Used 2021 Honda Odyssey for Sale nearBuffalo, NY

How much does the 2021 Honda Odyssey cost?

Prices have softened 6.52% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 1,405 listings available, which gives you a solid pool of options to compare.

Is the 2021 Honda Odyssey a good car?

Yes — it earns a 4.8/5 user rating and a 7.83/10 expert rating. The model scores 9/10 across Look and feel and Safety.

Owners consistently praise its space, safety features, and family-friendly usefulness, and they also call out its strong drivability. The expert review reinforces that appeal with notes about its spacious cabin, easy loading, and practical everyday design. The main trade-offs are that it is not as luxurious as some rivals and it does not offer all-wheel drive.

For a family-focused minivan, that combination makes sense if you value comfort, utility, and easy day-to-day use over premium extras. There are 36.4% good or great deals in the market, so you still have room to shop selectively.

Is the 2021 Honda Odyssey reliable?

Owners rate it 4.8/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner summary points to a vehicle that feels dependable in daily family use, with strong praise for its space, safety, and helpful family-oriented features. The expert review also describes the drivetrain as a terrific combination that supplies smooth, effortless power, which supports the sense that the Odyssey is built to be easy to count on. Honda’s maintenance coverage note also helps ownership confidence.

For used buyers, the main long-term risk is less about basic dependability and more about finding a well-kept example that has been maintained carefully over time.

What should I look for when buying a used 2021 Honda Odyssey?

At 66.8% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report and then prioritize a thorough pre-purchase inspection, especially if you are considering a higher-mileage family hauler. Focus on signs of wear in the cabin, seat mechanisms, and braking performance, since family use can be hard on a minivan. It also makes sense to compare condition carefully across listings, because the market includes a mix of cleaner and incident-affected vehicles.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The LX gets standard LED headlights with automatic high-beam operation and Honda Sensing, while EX adds the blind-spot warning with rear cross-traffic warning system and the 8-inch touchscreen infotainment setup. EX-L, Touring, and Elite build upward from there with more upscale materials and added convenience features, so the best value depends on how much equipment you want beyond the basics.
• Powertrain: Every trim uses a 3.5-liter V6 with a ten-speed automatic transmission and front-wheel drive. The engine makes 280 horsepower, and the setup includes Normal, Sport, Econ, and Snow driving modes plus variable cylinder management for better efficiency.
• Safety package: Honda Sensing is standard on the LX and includes low-speed follow capability for adaptive cruise control, pedestrian braking, road-sign recognition, and a dashboard menu button for ADAS settings. Blind-spot warning with rear cross-traffic warning requires at least EX trim.
• Infotainment: Starting with EX trim, you get an 8-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, satellite radio, HD Radio, text-messaging support, basic HondaLink connectivity, and the Cabin Control smartphone app. Touring adds navigation, WiFi capability, CabinWatch, and CabinTalk, while Elite adds an 11-speaker premium sound system, multi-zone listening, and wireless smartphone charging.
• Fuel efficiency: The EPA says it should get 22 mpg in combined driving, and the expert test loop returned 21.8 mpg.

Which 2021 Honda Odyssey trim should I buy?

The 2021 Honda Odyssey is offered in 5 trim levels: LX, EX, EX-L, Touring, and Elite.

Here's the short version:

• LX: This is the entry point, but it still gives you standard LED headlights with automatic high-beam operation and Honda Sensing. It makes sense if you want the lowest-cost way into the Odyssey without giving up the core safety suite.
• EX: This is the best-value trim for many shoppers because it adds the 8-inch touchscreen, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and the blind-spot warning with rear cross-traffic warning system. If you want the most useful everyday upgrades without jumping too far in price, this is the one to target.
• EX-L: This trim moves you further up the comfort ladder with a more upscale feel, making it a good fit if you want a nicer cabin without going all the way to the tech-heavy upper trims.
• Touring: This is the trim to choose if you want navigation, WiFi capability, CabinWatch, CabinTalk, and the rear-seat entertainment system. It suits families that will use the van for long trips and want more built-in convenience.
• Elite: This is the most upscale version, adding the premium audio system, multi-zone listening, wireless charging, and the most polished interior presentation. It is the right pick if you want the most features and the richest cabin experience.

Honda Sensing is standard on the LX, while blind-spot warning with rear cross-traffic warning starts at EX.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2021 Honda Odyssey?

This is a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully and still find worthwhile listings.

• Deal availability: 36.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 1,405 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 6.52% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 66.8% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $26,128, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2021 Honda Odyssey's resale value?

The current average of $26,128 sits slightly below last year's $27,950.

That softer pricing suggests the model has already absorbed some depreciation, which can help future sellers if they buy at the right price today. If you purchase near the lower end of the range and keep the van in strong condition, you may have a better chance of limiting your loss later. The market still shows meaningful demand, so well-kept examples should remain easier to move than neglected ones.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.8/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2021 Honda Odyssey safe?

The 2021 Honda Odyssey should once again earn a Top Safety Pick recommendation from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS), and it earns five-star ratings in every NHTSA assessment aside from rollover resistance, where it earns a four-star score.

It earns a 9/10 safety score from our experts.

Honda Sensing is standard on the base LX trim and includes low-speed follow capability for adaptive cruise control, pedestrian braking, road-sign recognition, and a dashboard menu button for ADAS settings. If you want blind-spot warning with rear cross-traffic warning, you still need to move up to EX trim. The expert review also notes that the ADAS works accurately, though some systems can feel a bit abrupt in operation.

Should I buy a 2021 Honda Odyssey or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2021 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2021 if:

• 36.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 66.8% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 6.52% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.8/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• It adds freshened styling, standard LED headlights, and expanded Honda Sensing.

Consider the 2022 if:

• At $28,629, the 2022 costs more than the current year's $26,128 average.
• It keeps the same light, effortless driving character while adding no major changes.

The bottom line: If you want the better value, the 2021 is the smarter buy because it combines a lower average price with strong owner satisfaction and solid safety. If you are willing to pay more for essentially the same core formula, the 2022 is the fallback choice, but price-sensitive buyers should focus on the 2021.
