overall

Summary
With 3,045 currently listed for sale and an average price of $21,868.00, 29.8% of 2021 Honda Accords for sale on CarGurus are rated as good or great deals.
Favorably reviewed: Owners rated the 2021 Honda Accord 4.6 / 5 stars and CarGurus experts gave it a 9.17 / 10.
63.4% of 2021 Accord models on CarGurus are accident free.
Why it stands out
The 2021 Honda Accord stands out as one of the bestselling cars in the U.S. for good reason. For the 2021 model year, Honda took the Accord in a more elevated direction by refining its features list, adding a trim level, and pricing it to compete against other heavyweights in the industry. Honda also made safety a priority in the 2021 Accord, helping this fresh version earn high praise.
Beyond those updates, the Accord’s appeal comes through in its stylish design, great handling, and spacious cabin. Those strengths make it an easy car to recommend for buyers who want a well-rounded sedan with a polished feel. The main drawbacks are that all-wheel drive is not available and the technology is outdated, so shoppers looking for the latest tech or extra traction may want to keep those limits in mind.

I think the car has all features that I needed . Because of the low miles and condition I think it was great value. Only thing it was missing was a sunroof . the most similar options are the camry xse and bmw 3 Series.

My second Accord, this was to replace a 2018 that was totaled in an accident. I've driven a Camry, K5, Buick Regal, Altima, and several other sedans and this is the best built in a world with fewer and fewer available

Is the 2021 Honda Accord a good car?
Yes — 4.6/5 is a strong user rating for this model year, and the expert rating is 9.17/10. The standout strength is Cost effectiveness at 10/10.
Owners consistently praise its great performance, luxurious features, good gas mileage, modern look, and technology. The main trade-offs are that it is not the fastest model available and some shoppers feel the pricing is high for the features offered.
In practical terms, the Accord fits you well if you want a polished, well-rounded sedan with strong everyday appeal, stylish design, great handling, and a spacious cabin. It also has a moderate market position, with 29.1% of listings marked as good or great deals.
Is the 2021 Honda Accord reliable?
Owners rate it 4.6/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.
User feedback points to a car that feels dependable, with praise for good gas mileage, strong performance, and a generally trouble-free ownership experience. The expert evaluation also emphasizes measured, easy-to-live-with driving behavior and smooth braking, which supports the sense that this is a car you can count on day to day.
If you’re buying used, the main long-term ownership risk is less about the Accord’s core durability and more about finding one that has been maintained well and not worn hard.
What should I look for when buying a used 2021 Honda Accord?
At 62.7% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
You should start with a vehicle history report and then prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if the car has had bodywork or shows uneven panel gaps, tire wear, or paint mismatch. Focus on condition, maintenance records, and whether the features you want are actually present on the trim you’re considering.
Key things to evaluate:
- Trim level: The base LX is the simplest version, while higher trims add features like leather-trimmed seating, heated front seats, a power-adjustable passenger seat, a power-adjustable driver’s seat, heated mirrors, keyless entry, remote engine start, and a power moonroof on select trims. The lower trims are also the ones most likely to feel feature-light if you want a more upscale cabin.
- Powertrain: You get a 192-horsepower turbocharged 1.5-liter four-cylinder with a CVT on lower trims, or a 252-hp 2.0-liter turbo-four with a 10-speed automatic on Sport 2.0T and Touring. The smaller engine is the efficiency play, while the larger one is the stronger choice if you want more punch.
- Safety package: Every Accord includes Honda Sensing with lane-keeping assist, adaptive cruise control, traffic sign recognition, and automatic high beams. Higher trims add rear-seat reminder, low-speed braking control, and blind-spot monitoring with cross-traffic alert, so check carefully if those extras matter to you.
- Infotainment: Every model gets an 8-inch touchscreen, Bluetooth, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and two USB ports. Higher trims can add wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a wireless phone charger, a 10-speaker premium audio system, WiFi hotspot capability, and Near Field Communication.
- Fuel efficiency: The 1.5-liter engine is rated at 30 mpg city, 38 mpg highway, and 33 mpg combined, while the 2.0-liter returns 22 mpg city, 32 mpg highway, and 26 mpg combined.
Which 2021 Honda Accord trim should I buy?
The 2021 Honda Accord is offered in 6 trim levels: LX, Sport 1.5T, Sport Special Edition (SE), EX-L, Sport 2.0T, and Touring.
Here's the short version:
- LX: This is the value-focused starting point if you want the Accord’s core strengths without paying for extras. It gives you the standard safety suite, the 8-inch touchscreen, and the efficient 1.5-liter turbo engine, but it is also the trim most likely to feel basic if you want a more upscale interior.
- Sport 1.5T: This is the better pick if you want a more expressive look and a stronger feature set than the LX without jumping too far up the price ladder. It adds a sportier presentation and keeps the efficient engine, making it a sensible middle-ground choice.
- Sport Special Edition (SE): This is the best-value trim for many shoppers because it builds on the Sport with leather-trimmed seats, heated front seats, a power-adjustable passenger seat, a power-adjustable driver’s seat, heated mirrors, keyless entry, and remote engine start. If you want the most noticeable upgrade in comfort and convenience for the money, this is the one to target.
- EX-L: Choose this if you want a more premium-feeling Accord with leather and the option for a power moonroof. It suits you best if comfort and a more upscale cabin matter more than sporty character.
- Sport 2.0T: This is the choice if you want the stronger 2.0-liter turbo engine and a more engaging drive. It also keeps the sport-oriented look and adds the kind of performance that makes the Accord feel more lively.
- Touring: This is the top-end pick if you want the most equipment, including the head-up display, HomeLink Remote, and the fullest tech and convenience content. It’s the right trim if you want the most complete Accord experience and are willing to pay for it.
Honda Sensing is standard across the lineup, while blind-spot monitoring with cross-traffic alert and other added safety features arrive on higher trims.

What is the 2021 Honda Accord's resale value?
The current average of $21,840 sits slightly below last year's $23,254.
That softer pricing can help you as a buyer now, but it also means a future seller may face a more competitive resale environment if prices continue to ease. The good news is that the Accord’s strong reputation, broad appeal, and high owner satisfaction can help support demand over time.
Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.6/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.
Is the 2021 Honda Accord safe?

Higher trims add rear-seat reminder, low-speed braking control, and blind-spot monitoring with cross-traffic alert. Body-colored parking sensors are also reserved for EX-L and Touring.
Should I buy a 2021 Honda Accord or consider a different year?
If you're weighing the 2021 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:
Choose the 2021 if:
- 29.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- At 62.7% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 6.08% compared with last year.
- Owners rate it 4.6/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
- Honda refreshed the Accord’s features list, added a trim level, and made safety a priority.
Consider the 2020 if:
- At $20,322, the 2020 costs less than the current year's $21,840 average.
- It feels polished, practical, and especially strong in comfort and everyday usability.
The bottom line: If you want the better-equipped, more refined version with strong safety and broad market availability, the 2021 is the better default choice. If your priority is saving money and you’re comfortable giving up some of the 2021 updates, the 2020 is the smarter value play.
