How much does the 2021 GMC Terrain cost?

Prices have softened 11.28% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 2,415 listings available, which suggests you have a solid amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2021 GMC Terrain a good car?

Yes — the 2021 GMC Terrain earns a 5/5 user rating, which points to strong owner satisfaction.

Drivers consistently praise its stylish interior, feature set, smooth ride, and fuel efficiency. The Terrain’s use-case appeal is strongest if you want a compact SUV that feels a bit more premium than many rivals while still serving as an everyday commuter with a comfortable cabin.

With 34.3% of listings marked as good or great deals, you have a meaningful chance to find attractive pricing.

Is the 2021 GMC Terrain reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback also emphasizes value, smooth driving manners, and a generally dependable ownership experience, which are all encouraging signs if you want a used SUV you can count on. For used buyers, that kind of satisfaction lowers the odds of unpleasant long-term surprises, though condition and maintenance history still matter.

What should I look for when buying a used 2021 GMC Terrain?

At 74% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should run a vehicle history report on any promising listing and prioritize a pre-purchase inspection before you commit. Focus closely on body condition, signs of prior repair, and whether the cabin and technology features match the seller’s description.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2021 GMC Terrain?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently and still find worthwhile options.

• Deal availability: 34.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 2,415 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 11.28% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 74.0% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $17,780, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2021 GMC Terrain's resale value?

The current average of $17,780 sits slightly below last year's $20,041.

That price movement suggests the Terrain has already absorbed a meaningful amount of depreciation, which can help future sellers if the market stabilizes. If you buy at a disciplined price today, you may have a better chance of limiting your loss when it’s time to sell. Strong owner satisfaction can also help keep demand steady in the used market.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2021 GMC Terrain or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2021 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2021 if:

• 34.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 74% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 11.28% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2022 if:

• At $21,088, the 2022 costs more than the current year's $17,780 average.
• It adds an AT4 trim with standard all-wheel drive and rugged styling.

The bottom line: If you want the better value, the 2021 is the stronger buy because it combines lower pricing with strong owner satisfaction. If you’re willing to spend more for a newer model and a more rugged trim option, the 2022 is the better secondary path.
