Used 2021 Chevrolet Traverse for Sale near Connecticut

How much does the 2021 Chevrolet Traverse cost?

Prices have softened 13.40% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 3,167 listings available, which suggests solid inventory for comparison shopping.

Is the 2021 Chevrolet Traverse a good car?

Yes — the 2021 Chevrolet Traverse earns a 5/5 user rating and a 6.7/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Form and function at 8/10.

Owners consistently praise the spacious interior, the driving experience, and the value it offers. They also highlight the power and the feature content, which fits a three-row SUV aimed at larger families.

On the downside, the expert review points to poor handling and interior materials that feel cheap, along with poor value for money. In practical terms, you should expect a family-first layout and comfort-focused use case rather than a polished, sporty feel.

The Traverse is best suited to you if passenger room and everyday usability matter more than sharp dynamics or upscale cabin materials. It also lands in a market where 31.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which gives you some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2021 Chevrolet Traverse reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner summary also points to a dependable-feeling ownership experience, with repeated praise for the Traverse’s spacious interior, excellent driving experience, and value. The expert review reinforces that it is a competent, comfortable family vehicle that should be easy to live with over time.

Chevy’s powertrain warranty runs five years or 60,000 miles, which helps support early ownership confidence. For used buyers, the main long-term risk is less about outright durability and more about whether the vehicle has been maintained well and equipped to your needs.

What should I look for when buying a used 2021 Chevrolet Traverse?

At 70.2% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report and then prioritize a thorough pre-purchase inspection, especially if the listing price looks unusually attractive. Focus on condition, equipment, and signs of prior repair work rather than assuming every example has the same story.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The lineup ranges from L to High Country, and the base L is the most stripped-down version. Higher trims add more style and convenience, while the RS and High Country bring more distinctive appearance treatment.
• Powertrain: You get a 3.6-liter V6 with 310 horsepower and a nine-speed automatic. It has enough strength for highway merging and overtaking, but the transmission can shift roughly at times.
• Safety package: Chevy offers driver-assistance features such as automatic emergency braking, forward-collision warning, lane-keep assist, lane-departure warning, automatic high beams, blind-spot monitoring, and rear cross-traffic alert. Adaptive cruise control is only available on the High Country trim.
• Infotainment: The standard setup uses a 7-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and Bluetooth. Higher trims can add an 8-inch screen, navigation, a 4G-LTE WiFi hotspot, and a Bose 10-speaker audio system.
• Fuel efficiency: The Traverse gets 21 mpg combined, 18 mpg city, and 27 mpg highway with FWD, or 20 mpg combined, 17 mpg city, and 25 mpg highway with AWD.

Which 2021 Chevrolet Traverse trim should I buy?

The 2021 Chevrolet Traverse is offered in 7 trim levels: L, LS, LT Cloth, LT Leather, RS, Premier, and High Country.

Here's the short version:

• L: This is the entry point, so it makes sense if you want the lowest-cost way into the Traverse’s space and V6 power. It gives you the basics, but you’ll want to step up if you care about more comfort, convenience, or visual polish.
• LS: This is the first trim where the Traverse starts to feel more rounded for everyday family use. It’s a sensible middle step if you want more equipment without chasing the higher-priced luxury-oriented trims.
• LT Cloth: This is the best-value choice for many shoppers because it balances equipment and price well. It gives you a more appealing ownership experience than the base trims without pushing you into the expensive upper end.
• LT Leather: Choose this if you want a more upscale cabin feel and are willing to pay for it. It suits you if comfort and interior presentation matter more than keeping the budget tight.
• RS: This trim adds blacked-out styling and a sportier look, and the expert review’s test vehicle showed that the Traverse can feel comfortable and composed on the highway. It’s the pick if you want the most distinctive appearance in the lineup.
• Premier: This is the better choice if you want more convenience and a richer feature set. It also gets wireless phone charging as standard, which helps it feel more complete for daily use.
• High Country: This is the top trim and the one to choose if you want the most equipment, including adaptive cruise control. It’s the most premium Traverse, but it also carries the highest price.

Chevy’s safety tech is less standard than many rivals’, so if driver-assistance features matter to you, pay close attention to trim level and option content.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2021 Chevrolet Traverse?

This is a moderate market for selective buyers, so you can shop patiently but still move quickly on the right listing.

• Deal availability: 31.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 3,167 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 13.40% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 70.2% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $21,083, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2021 Chevrolet Traverse's resale value?

The current average of $21,083 sits slightly below last year's $24,345.

That decline suggests the market has become more favorable for buyers, but it also means future sellers may face some pressure if prices continue to soften. If you buy well now, you may be starting from a lower entry point than owners did a year ago.

The Traverse’s broad appeal as a roomy family SUV should help support demand, especially for clean, well-equipped examples. Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2021 Chevrolet Traverse safe?

The 2021 Traverse earns Good ratings in all IIHS crash tests and a Superior rating for front-crash prevention tech. It also earns a five-star overall rating from NHTSA, with four-star ratings in frontal crash and rollover, and five-star ratings in side-impact tests.

It earns a 6/10 safety score from our experts.

Chevy offers driver-assistance features including automatic emergency braking, forward-collision warning, lane-keep assist, lane-departure warning, automatic high beams, blind-spot monitoring, and rear cross-traffic alert. Adaptive cruise control is only standard on the High Country trim, so you need to shop carefully if that feature matters to you.

The main caveat is that headlight performance varies by trim, with IIHS ratings ranging from Acceptable to Poor. That makes trim selection especially important if you want the best safety package.

Should I buy a 2021 Chevrolet Traverse or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2021 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2021 if:

• 31.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 70.2% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 13.40% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The 2021 model keeps the Traverse’s roomy three-row layout and comfortable highway manners.

Consider the 2022 if:

• At $24,410, the 2022 costs more than the current year's $21,083 average.
• It adds updates that were delayed from 2021, including minor styling changes and wireless smartphone connectivity.

The bottom line: If you want the better value, the 2021 is the smarter buy because it combines lower pricing with strong owner satisfaction and plenty of family-friendly space. If you’re willing to pay more for the newer model’s updates, the 2022 is the secondary path to consider.
