Used 2021 Chevrolet Trailblazer for Sale nearSaint Louis, MO

How much does the 2021 Chevrolet Trailblazer cost?

Prices have softened 9.08% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 1,617 listings available, which suggests you have a decent amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2021 Chevrolet Trailblazer a good car?

Generally — the 2021 Chevrolet Trailblazer earns a 4.3/5 user rating and a 7.7/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Technology at 10/10.

Owners consistently praise its sporty design, good gas economy, and spacious interior with great standard features. The Trailblazer also gets credit for stylish design, great handling, and easy-to-use technology, which fits its role as an affordable, approachable small crossover for younger and more cost-conscious buyers.

The trade-offs are clear: the base engine is underwhelming, the seats are uncomfortable, and cargo space is limited. Even so, the model’s good deal share of 33.6% shows there are still attractive listings in the market.

Is the 2021 Chevrolet Trailblazer reliable?

Owners rate it 4.3/5, a solid signal of long-term satisfaction.

User feedback points to a dependable-feeling ownership experience, with owners describing the Trailblazer as a vehicle they appreciate for everyday use, good gas economy, and a spacious cabin. The expert review also notes that the powertrain is agreeable in use and that the SUV supplies enough power for most driving conditions.

Chevrolet also includes your first maintenance visit free of charge, which helps lower early ownership costs. For used buyers, the main long-term risk is that some reported water leakage issues and the model’s mixed durability impressions make a careful inspection especially important.

What should I look for when buying a used 2021 Chevrolet Trailblazer?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 77.7% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should still run a vehicle history report on any listing you like, because accident-free status does not guarantee a trouble-free past. A pre-purchase inspection should focus on the cabin, electronics, and any signs of water intrusion, especially given owner reports of leakage concerns. It also makes sense to pay close attention to how the drivetrain and suspension feel on a test drive, since comfort and power are recurring weak points.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The Trailblazer’s trims range from L through RS, and the base setup is the most stripped-down. Higher trims add more style and equipment, while the Activ trim brings a more rugged appearance with skid plate trim, unique wheels, sport terrain tires, and standard two-tone paint.
• Powertrain: The standard front-wheel-drive setup uses a turbocharged 1.2-liter 3-cylinder engine with 137 horsepower and a CVT. Other versions use a turbocharged 1.3-liter 3-cylinder engine with 155 hp, and AWD swaps in a 9-speed automatic.
• Safety package: Chevy Safety Assist is standard and includes forward-collision alert with pedestrian detection, automatic emergency braking, lane departure warning, lane-keeping assist, and a safe following distance indicator. Blind-spot warning with rear cross-traffic alert, a high-definition reversing camera, and adaptive cruise control are available depending on trim.
• Infotainment: The standard system uses a 7-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, Bluetooth pairing for two phones, SiriusXM, Teen Driver, and a WiFi hotspot. An available upgrade adds an 8-inch display, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, SiriusXM 360L, and cloud-connected personalization.
• Fuel efficiency: The testing loop returned 26.6 mpg for the AWD setup, and the official combined rating is 28 mpg.

Which 2021 Chevrolet Trailblazer trim should I buy?

The 2021 Chevrolet Trailblazer is offered in 5 trim levels: L, LS, LT, Activ, and RS.

Here's the short version:

• L: This is the entry point, and it makes the Trailblazer affordable, but you should expect the fewest features and the most basic version of the underwhelming standard powertrain.
• LS: This is the next step up if you want a little more equipment without moving too far up the price ladder.
• LT: This is the best-value trim for many shoppers because it balances added equipment with the Trailblazer’s core strengths of style and easy-to-use technology.
• Activ: This is the one to choose if you want the rugged look and the extra visual character, plus the available AWD setup and the more powerful engine.
• RS: This is the sportier-looking choice for buyers who want the most distinctive appearance and the upgraded tech options.

Chevrolet Safety Assist is standard across the lineup, but some driver-assistance features remain trim dependent.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2021 Chevrolet Trailblazer?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently but still move quickly on the right listing.

• Deal availability: 33.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 1,617 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 9.08% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 77.7% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $16,675, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2021 Chevrolet Trailblazer's resale value?

The current average of $16,675 sits slightly below last year's $18,340.

That price movement suggests the Trailblazer has softened enough to help used buyers today, but it also means future sellers may need to price competitively to stand out. If you buy at the current average or below, you may have less downside risk than someone who paid closer to last year’s higher level. Strong demand for well-equipped, good-condition examples should help the better listings hold value more effectively than rougher ones.

Vehicles with solid owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.3/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2021 Chevrolet Trailblazer safe?

The 2021 Chevrolet Trailblazer earns a 7/10 safety score from our experts.

Chevrolet Safety Assist is standard, and it includes forward-collision alert with pedestrian detection, automatic emergency braking, lane departure warning, lane-keeping assist, and a safe following distance indicator. The Trailblazer also includes 10 airbags, a rear-seat reminder system, Teen Driver technology, and subscription-based automatic collision notification service. Depending on trim level, you can also get blind-spot warning with rear cross-traffic alert and lane-change assistance, a high-definition reversing camera, and adaptive cruise control.

The safety tech is broad, but the expert review notes that some systems can be inconsistent in real-world use, including forward collision warning, adaptive cruise control, and lane-keeping assistance. That means you should treat the available driver-assistance features as helpful support, not a substitute for careful driving.

Should I buy a 2021 Chevrolet Trailblazer or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2021 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2021 if:

• 33.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 77.7% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 9.08% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.3/5 — a solid satisfaction signal.
• It launched as a new entry-point Trailblazer with strong technology and an affordable positioning.

Consider the 2022 if:

• At $18,535, the 2022 costs more than the current year's $16,675 average.
• It adds a heated steering wheel and new paint colors.

The bottom line: If you want the better value, the 2021 is the smarter starting point because it combines lower pricing with solid inventory and strong owner satisfaction. If you want a newer model and are willing to pay more, the 2022 is the cleaner upgrade path.
