Used 2021 Cadillac XT6 for Sale nearMalibu, CA

How much does the 2021 Cadillac XT6 cost?

Prices have softened 14.10% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 920 listings available, which gives you a solid amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2021 Cadillac XT6 a good car?

The 2021 Cadillac XT6 is a qualified choice if you want a premium three-row SUV with a refined feel and broad appeal. It earns 3.67/5 from users and 7.5/10 from experts.

The model scores 8/10 across Look and feel, Form and function, Technology, and Safety.

The XT6’s strengths are clear in its spacious third row, impressive technology, and great handling. It is aimed at premium SUV shoppers who want a crossover-style alternative to the larger Escalade, and it leans into refinement and driving confidence rather than flash.

The trade-offs are just as clear: advanced safety features are not standard, the stereo is lacking, and performance is fairly pedestrian. That makes it a better fit if you value comfort, space, and upscale presentation more than quick acceleration or a fully loaded standard feature set.

With 36.6% of listings marked as good or great deals, you have some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2021 Cadillac XT6 reliable?

The 2021 Cadillac XT6 is presented as a refined, mostly unchanged luxury SUV, but its ownership story is shaped more by equipment and execution than by standout dependability claims. The expert data emphasizes that it is mostly unchanged for the model year, which can be reassuring if you want a known quantity.

The performance notes point to a smooth-shifting nine-speed automatic and powertrains that work without drama, while the cost-effectiveness notes suggest the XT6 sits in a pricey part of the market for what it delivers. That means reliability-minded shoppers should focus less on the badge and more on how the specific vehicle was maintained and equipped.

If you’re buying used, the long-term risk is less about novelty and more about paying luxury-SUV money for a vehicle whose value depends heavily on condition and maintenance history.

What should I look for when buying a used 2021 Cadillac XT6?

At 72.7% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report and then prioritize a thorough pre-purchase inspection, especially if you’re considering a higher-mileage example or one with added packages. Focus on how the cabin, electronics, and driver-assistance features function in real use, since this XT6 leans heavily on technology and comfort.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The Luxury trim is the entry point, while Premium Luxury and Sport add more upscale presentation; Premium Luxury and Sport also bring lane change alert with blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert as standard.
• Powertrain: The base Luxury uses a 2.0-liter turbo-four, while Premium Luxury and Sport use a 3.6-liter V6 with a nine-speed automatic; the V6 is described as smooth and strong enough for easy acceleration.
• Safety package: All models include automatic emergency braking, forward-collision alert, following-distance indicator, lane-keep assist with lane-departure warning, a high-definition rearview camera, Safety Alert Seat, IntelliBeam headlights, and rear park assist; the Driver Assist Package adds adaptive cruise control, automatic seat belt tightening, enhanced automatic emergency braking, and reverse automatic braking.
• Infotainment: You get an 8.0-inch touchscreen, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, infotainment user profiles, satellite radio, a WiFi hot spot, six USB ports, and an eight-speaker Bose audio system; upgrades can add navigation, a 14-speaker Bose system, and upgraded wireless charging.
• Fuel efficiency: The 2.0-liter turbo-four is rated at 21 mpg city, 26 mpg highway, and 23 mpg combined with AWD, or 21 mpg city, 27 mpg highway, and 23 mpg combined with FWD; the V6 gets 19 mpg city, 26 mpg highway, and 21 mpg combined with FWD, or 18 mpg city, 25 mpg highway, and 21 mpg combined with AWD.

Which 2021 Cadillac XT6 trim should I buy?

The 2021 Cadillac XT6 is offered in 3 trim levels: Luxury, Premium Luxury, and Sport.

Here's the short version:

• Luxury: This is the value play if you want the XT6’s core three-row space, standard sunroof, and standard tech without stretching the budget. It gives you the base turbo-four powertrain and the essential safety and infotainment equipment, but you miss the extra standard driver-assistance content that comes with the higher trims.
• Premium Luxury: This is the best-value trim for most shoppers because it adds the V6, more upscale presentation, and standard blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert. If you want the XT6 to feel more complete without jumping to the highest price tier, this is the one to target.
• Sport: Choose this if you want the most distinctive appearance and the V6 with AWD as standard. It also pairs well with the available visibility and technology upgrades, but it is the priciest route and makes the most sense if you care about the XT6’s sportier styling and loaded feature set.

Premium Luxury and Sport are the trims that add the standard lane change alert with blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2021 Cadillac XT6?

This is a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop with some leverage if you’re patient and focused.

• Deal availability: 36.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 920 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 14.10% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 72.7% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $26,051, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2021 Cadillac XT6's resale value?

The current average of $26,051 sits slightly below last year's $30,328.

That drop suggests the XT6 has softened in the used market, which can help you buy more SUV for the money today. If you plan to sell later, you should expect resale value to depend heavily on trim, condition, and whether the vehicle has desirable equipment rather than on broad market momentum alone.

For a future seller, the current pricing trend means you may need to be realistic about depreciation if you buy at the wrong trim or overpay for options. A well-kept example with the right equipment should still be easier to move than one that feels stripped or poorly maintained.

Is the 2021 Cadillac XT6 safe?

The 2021 Cadillac XT6 earns a five-star frontal crash test rating and a four-star rollover crash test rating from NHTSA.

It earns an 8/10 safety score from our experts.

All XT6 models come with automatic emergency braking, forward-collision alert, following-distance indicator, lane-keep assist with lane-departure warning, a high-definition rearview camera, Safety Alert Seat, IntelliBeam headlights, and rear park assist. Premium Luxury and Sport models also add lane change alert with blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert as standard.

A key caveat is that the lane-keep assist and lane-departure warning systems are described as struggling to read lane lines reliably, even in good conditions. Buyers who want the fullest safety feature set should pay close attention to trim level, since some of the more advanced driver-assistance features are not standard on every version.

Should I buy a 2021 Cadillac XT6 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2021 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2021 if:

• 36.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 72.7% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 14.10% compared with last year.
• It keeps the same refined, spacious, and tech-forward formula with broad appeal.

Consider the 2020 if:

• At $24,571, the 2020 costs less than the current year's $26,051 average.
• It offers a stylish, practical three-row setup at a more approachable price.

Consider the 2022 if:

• At $29,049, the 2022 costs more than the current year's $26,051 average.
• It brings better execution, ride quality, and safety appeal.

The bottom line: The 2021 is the right pick if you want the XT6’s premium feel, strong tech, and broad market availability without paying more for the next model year. If price is your top priority, the 2020 is the smarter value route; if you want a more polished version and can spend more, the 2022 is the better upgrade path.
