How much does the 2021 Cadillac XT6 cost?

Is the 2021 Cadillac XT6 a good car?

The 2021 Cadillac XT6 is a mixed but appealing choice if you want a premium three-row SUV with a strong feature set and confident road manners. It earns 3.7/5 from users and 7.5/10 from experts.

The model scores 8/10 across Look and feel, Form and function, Technology, and Safety.

It stands out as a crossover-style alternative to the larger Escalade, with high levels of refinement, a spacious third row, impressive technology, and great handling. The trade-offs are clear: advanced safety features are not standard, the stereo is lacking, and performance is fairly pedestrian.

If you want a luxury SUV that emphasizes space, tech, and everyday drivability over outright excitement, the XT6 fits that brief well. There are 35.0% good or great deals in the market, which suggests you may have room to shop selectively.

Is the 2021 Cadillac XT6 reliable?

The 2021 Cadillac XT6 is presented as a mostly unchanged carryover, which can be reassuring if you want a known quantity rather than a first-year redesign. Its expert summary emphasizes refinement and driving confidence, while also noting that the model leans on familiar strengths and weaknesses.

The performance notes point to a smooth-shifting nine-speed automatic and powertrains that get the SUV moving with ease. The cost-effectiveness commentary also suggests the XT6 sits in a crowded luxury field where you should weigh value carefully against rivals.

For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is that a premium price does not automatically buy premium durability, so condition and maintenance history matter.

What should I look for when buying a used 2021 Cadillac XT6?

At 70.1% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should run a vehicle history report before you get serious about any listing, then prioritize a pre-purchase inspection if the vehicle has had prior damage or multiple owners. Focus on signs of wear in the cabin, electronics, and safety systems, since this model leans heavily on technology and comfort features.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The Luxury trim is the most basic version, while Premium Luxury and Sport add more upscale equipment and, on the higher trims, standard blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert.
• Powertrain: You can shop a 2.0-liter turbo-four or a 3.6-liter V6, with front-wheel drive standard and all-wheel drive available on most trims.
• Safety package: The standard suite includes automatic emergency braking, forward-collision alert, following-distance indicator, lane-keep assist with lane-departure warning, a high-definition rearview camera, Safety Alert Seat, IntelliBeam headlights, and rear park assist. Premium Luxury and Sport also add lane change alert with blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert as standard.
• Infotainment: The XT6 uses an 8.0-inch touchscreen, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and an eight-speaker Bose audio system, with navigation and a 14-speaker Bose upgrade available.
• Fuel efficiency: The turbo-four is rated at 21 mpg in the city and 27 mpg on the highway with front-wheel drive, while the V6 returns 19 mpg in the city and 26 mpg on the highway with front-wheel drive.

Which 2021 Cadillac XT6 trim should I buy?

The 2021 Cadillac XT6 is offered in 3 trim levels: Luxury, Premium Luxury, and Sport.

Here's the short version:

• Luxury: This is the entry point, and it gives you the XT6’s core three-row layout, standard tech, and the most accessible price. It makes the most sense if you want the XT6 experience without paying for extras you may not use.
• Premium Luxury: This is the best-value trim if you want a more complete luxury feel, since it adds more upscale equipment and standard blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert.
• Sport: This is the most style-forward version, with darker exterior accents and a more aggressive look, but it is the priciest path and is best if appearance matters most to you.

Premium Luxury and Sport also get lane change alert with blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert as standard.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2021 Cadillac XT6?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully and still find worthwhile listings.

• Deal availability: 35.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 955 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 13.07% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 70.1% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $25,702, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2021 Cadillac XT6's resale value?

The current average of $25,702 sits slightly below last year's $29,566.

That drop suggests the XT6 has already absorbed a meaningful amount of depreciation, which can help you as a buyer today. If you plan to sell later, the same trend means you should expect resale value to depend heavily on condition, mileage, and equipment.

Well-kept examples with desirable features should hold up better than neglected ones. If you buy at the right price now, you may reduce the sting of future depreciation.

Is the 2021 Cadillac XT6 safe?

The 2021 Cadillac XT6 earns a five-star frontal crash test rating and a four-star rollover crash test rating from NHTSA.

It earns an 8/10 safety score from our experts.

All XT6 models come with automatic emergency braking, forward-collision alert, following-distance indicator, lane-keep assist with lane-departure warning, a high-definition rearview camera, Safety Alert Seat, IntelliBeam headlights, and rear park assist. Premium Luxury and Sport models also add lane change alert with blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert as standard.

One caveat is that the lane-keep assist and lane-departure warning systems can be slow to recognize lane markings, which weakens their real-world usefulness.

Should I buy a 2021 Cadillac XT6 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2021 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2021 if:

• 35.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 70.1% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 13.07% compared with last year.
• It keeps the same refined, spacious, and tech-friendly formula while remaining mostly unchanged.

Consider the 2020 if:

• At $24,124, the 2020 costs less than the current year's $25,702 average.
• It offers stylish design and easy-to-use technology.

Consider the 2022 if:

• At $28,524, the 2022 costs more than the current year's $25,702 average.
• It brings better ride quality, impressive technology, and stronger safety ratings.

The bottom line: If you want the best balance of price and features, the 2021 is the sensible middle ground. If you’re especially price-sensitive, the 2020 is the cheaper route; if you want a more polished later version, the 2022 is worth the extra money.
