About 2021 Audi A6 Allroad
Overview

Finally landing on US shores in 2020, the Audi A6 Allroad cruises into 2021 with nary a change but some options package adjustments. Straight from the factory, the Audi A6 Allroad is one of the more well-equipped options out there, with standard air suspension, navigation, a panoramic sunroof, leather seats, a Bang & Olufsen stereo, and Audi’s configurable Virtual Cockpit. This year, those looking for a bit more luxury will be rewarded by the expansion of the Executive package for the base Premium Plus trim, plus the addition of a Black Optic package for some added style.
For the Executive package, when added to the Premium Plus trim, buyers will now get adaptive cruise control and lane-keeping assist added. Other features include heated rear and ventilated front seats, rear side-window sunshades, and ambient interior LED lighting. The Black Optic package will take the already attractive exterior of the A6 and deck it out in black trim for an extra sleek appearance.
That’s a lot of car, but then the A6 Allroad starts at over 60 grand, so you should expect to be well rewarded for your investment. And since the A6 Allroad is powered by a turbocharged, 3.0-liter V6 engine paired with a 48-volt hybrid motor and a seven-speed, dual-clutch automatic transmission (DCT), rewarded you will be! That setup powers all A6 Allroad trims and manages to deliver 335 horsepower and 369 pound-feet of torque, and thanks to the help of that hybrid motor, those 369 lb-ft arrive at just 1,370 rpm. Horsepower gets all the press, but it’s the torque that’ll get a big wagon like this moving, and the faster it comes on, the better.
Inside you’ll see the usual Audi affair, with crisp lines, uncluttered interfaces, and lots of wood trim. We're typically not a fan of the third screen for climate controls, as clean as it looks in this vehicle. Three screens to keep track of on top of actually driving seems a bit excessive, maybe even dangerous. That said, it’s hard to argue with how well thought out everything is. The standout here is Audi’s configurable Virtual Cockpit, which in our opinion, has set the benchmark for modern driver information displays. Starting with the Premium Plus trim, you’ll also enjoy heated front seats, four-zone auto climate controls, a top-view, 360-degree camera, and Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.
Outside you’ll see 20-inch alloy wheels, roof rails, and a power liftgate, and to make sure everything and everyone stays nice and safe, a frontal collision-mitigation system is also standard. Move up to the Prestige and you’ll see power soft-closing doors, dual-pane acoustic glass, a full-color head-up display (HUD), and all the extras from the Executive package added in.
With its wagon profile, the Audi A6 Allroad is not only one of the most attractive options for a five-door hauler on the market, it’s also one of the most spacious. Trunk capacity stands at 30 cubic-feet, an impressive improvement over the A6 sedan’s 13.7. But despite all that space and girth, the A6 Allroad still manages to move. With standard all-wheel drive (AWD), a 0-60 time of just over five seconds, and nice, tight steering, the A6 Allroad shouldn’t disappoint, whether in a straight line or on the curves. At any rate, it looks damned fine just standing still.
