Used 2021 Acura TLX for Sale nearCleveland, OH

How much does the 2021 Acura TLX cost?

Prices have softened 3.95% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 674 listings available, which gives you a decent amount of inventory to compare before you buy.

Is the 2021 Acura TLX a good car?

Generally — the 2021 Acura TLX earns a 4/5 user rating and a 7.33/10 expert rating. The model scores 8/10 across Look and feel and Form and function.

It stands out as a midsize sport sedan that leans into style, a more premium feel, and a distinct identity on its own platform. The cabin materials and exterior design help it feel upscale, while the available powertrain choices give you some flexibility in how you want the car to drive.

The trade-offs are real, though: the back seat is cramped, the technology is unintuitive, and cargo space is limited. If you want a sport sedan with a richer cabin and a more engaging personality, it fits that brief better than a purely practical commuter.

34.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which suggests there are still some worthwhile opportunities if you shop carefully.

Is the 2021 Acura TLX reliable?

Owners rate it 4/5, a solid signal of long-term satisfaction.

The TLX is built around Acura’s newer platform and brings a more substantial, premium-feeling design than the outgoing car. Its powertrain and chassis tuning are aimed at delivering a solid, engaging driving experience, and the car’s overall execution suggests careful engineering rather than a rushed redesign.

The performance setup includes a turbocharged 2.0-liter engine, a 10-speed automatic, and available SH-AWD, all of which point to a mechanically sophisticated package. Acura also backs the car with a four-year/50,000-mile new vehicle limited warranty and a six-year/70,000-mile powertrain warranty.

For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is that a premium, tech-heavy sedan can become more frustrating if prior maintenance or repairs were skipped.

What should I look for when buying a used 2021 Acura TLX?

At 69.4% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report and then prioritize a careful pre-purchase inspection. Focus on signs of prior bodywork, uneven panel gaps, interior wear, and any evidence that the car’s technology or driver-assistance systems were not working as intended.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The base car gives you the core TLX design and premium feel, while higher trims add more equipment and convenience features. The base trim also leaves some desirable tech and comfort items for the pricier versions.
• Powertrain: You get a turbocharged 2.0-liter inline four-cylinder with 272 horsepower and 280 pound-feet of torque, paired with a 10-speed automatic. FWD is standard, and SH-AWD is available across the lineup.
• Safety package: Every TLX includes AcuraWatch, with adaptive cruise control with low-speed follow, blind-spot monitoring, and lane-keeping assist. It also adds pedestrian sensing, autonomous emergency braking, traffic-sign recognition, traffic jam assist, and a driver attention monitor.
• Infotainment: The cabin centers on a 10.2-inch landscape screen. Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, Bluetooth, Siri Eyes Free, and SMS text messaging are included, while navigation is standard above the base trim.
• Fuel efficiency: FWD models are rated at 22 mpg city, 31 mpg highway, and 25 mpg combined, while AWD models are rated at 21/29/24 combined.

Which 2021 Acura TLX trim should I buy?

The 2021 Acura TLX is offered in 4 trim levels: base, Tech, A-Spec, Advance.

Here's the short version:

• base: This is the entry point if you want the TLX’s styling, premium cabin feel, and core powertrain without stretching your budget. It gives you the essentials, but you’ll miss some of the nicer convenience and tech upgrades found higher up.
• Tech: This is the best-value trim for many shoppers because it adds more of the features that make the TLX feel properly premium, including the navigation system that becomes standard above the base trim.
• A-Spec: Choose this if you want a more expressive look and a richer audio experience, since it brings a sportier presentation and access to the ELS Studio 3D premium audio system.
• Advance: This is the most comfort- and convenience-focused version, with the head-up display and adaptive dampers helping it feel the most fully equipped.

All trims include AcuraWatch, so you’re not giving up the core safety suite by staying lower in the lineup.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2021 Acura TLX?

The market looks moderately favorable if you’re selective.

• Deal availability: 34.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 674 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 3.95% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 69.4% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $26,377, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2021 Acura TLX's resale value?

The current average of $27,119 sits slightly below last year's $28,234.

That softer pricing suggests the TLX is currently more buyer-friendly than it was a year ago, which can help you enter ownership at a lower cost basis. For a future seller, that also means resale value may depend more heavily on condition, mileage, and trim desirability than on broad market momentum alone.

Because the model has a defined year-round range and a noticeable spread between low and high prices, well-kept examples should still stand out when it’s time to sell. Strong presentation and complete service records will matter if you want to protect value.

Vehicles with solid owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2021 Acura TLX safe?

The 2021 Acura TLX has not yet been tested by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) or the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), but Acura engineers have targeted five-star ratings and Top Safety Pick + ratings for the 2021 TLX.

It earns a 7/10 safety score from our experts.

Every TLX comes with AcuraWatch, which includes adaptive cruise control with low-speed follow, blind-spot monitoring, and lane-keeping assist. Standard equipment also includes pedestrian sensing and autonomous emergency braking, traffic-sign recognition, traffic jam assist, a driver attention monitor, a multi-angle rear-view camera with dynamic guidelines, ABS, stability control, and a full complement of airbags.

Available safety features include rear cross-traffic alert, front and rear parking sensors, a surround-view camera system, and the head-up display. That means the upper trims give you more visibility and parking assistance, but the core driver-assistance suite is standard across the lineup.

Should I buy a 2021 Acura TLX or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2021 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2021 if:

• 34.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 69.4% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 3.95% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4/5 — a solid satisfaction signal.
• The second-generation TLX brings a new platform, fresh styling, and a more premium identity.

Consider the 2020 if:

• At $22,043, the 2020 costs less than the current year's $27,119 average.
• It emphasizes driver-focused handling and strong value.

Consider the 2022 if:

• At $32,107, the 2022 costs more than the current year's $27,119 average.
• It adds a more polished, road-presence-heavy take on the same formula.

The bottom line: If you want the newest design and a more upscale feel, the 2021 is the right starting point. If your priority is saving money, the 2020 is the better value play, while the 2022 makes sense only if you’re willing to pay more for a newer-feeling market position.
