The 2020 XC60’s appeal comes from its safety focus, standard safety technology, and efficient powertrain lineup. It also benefits from a well-equipped cabin and a reputation for being a strong seller, which usually helps confidence when shopping used.

You should start with a history report to confirm accident status, title status, and service records. What is the 2020 Volvo XC60's resale value?

The current average of $22,323 sits slightly below last year's $24,847.

That price movement suggests the market has cooled, which can help you buy at a better entry point today. For a future seller, it also means resale value may depend more heavily on condition, mileage, and documentation than on broad market momentum alone. If you keep the vehicle well maintained and present it cleanly, you can help protect value even in a softer pricing environment.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2020 Volvo XC60 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2020 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2020 if:

• 39.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 80.5% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 10.16% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2021 if:

• At $23,919, the 2021 costs more than the current year's $22,323 average.
• It adds a more refined, upscale feel with stronger everyday appeal.

The bottom line: If you want the better value today, the 2020 is the primary path because it combines a lower average price with decent deal availability. If you can stretch for a newer model and want the extra polish, the 2021 is the secondary path for buyers who care more about refinement than upfront savings.
