How much does the 2020 Tesla Model Y cost?

Prices are up 3.29% year-over-year — a sign of continued demand for this model year.

There are 1,158 listings available, which gives you a meaningful pool to compare prices and equipment.

Is the 2020 Tesla Model Y a good car?

Yes — the 2020 Tesla Model Y earns a 4.77/5 user rating, which points to strong owner satisfaction. Owners consistently praise its impressive acceleration, spacious interior, and modern technology, and many also value its comfort and the convenience of not having to buy gas. For you, that makes it a strong fit if you want a practical electric crossover with roomy packaging and a tech-forward cabin. With 27.5% of listings marked as good or great deals, there is still some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2020 Tesla Model Y reliable?

Owners rate it 4.77/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback also points to a dependable ownership experience, with praise for comfort, convenience, and the vehicle’s trouble-free day-to-day appeal. That kind of long-term confidence matters if you plan to keep the car for several years, because it suggests fewer surprises and steadier satisfaction over time. For used buyers, the main ownership risk is making sure the specific vehicle has been cared for well and checked thoroughly before you commit.

What should I look for when buying a used 2020 Tesla Model Y?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 79.5% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should still prioritize a full history report and confirm that the car’s condition matches the listing photos and description. A pre-purchase inspection is especially important on a used EV, since you want to check overall wear, charging-related concerns, and any signs of prior damage. Focus on the cabin, touchscreen operation, tires, and body condition so you know exactly what you are buying.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2020 Tesla Model Y?

This is a seller’s market, so you should act selectively and be ready to move when you find the right listing.

• Deal availability: 27.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 1,158 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices are up 3.29% year-over-year.
• Clean inventory: 79.5% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $23,257, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2020 Tesla Model Y's resale value?

The current average of $26,199 sits slightly above last year's $25,364.

That upward move suggests the market still sees value in this model year, which can help support resale strength if you buy carefully. A tighter supply of well-priced examples can also work in your favor when it is time to sell, especially if your vehicle has been maintained well and presents cleanly. Strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.77/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2020 Tesla Model Y or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2020 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2020 if:

• 27.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 79.5% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices are up 3.29% year-over-year.
• Owners rate it 4.77/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: The 2020 Model Y is the right path if you want a used EV with strong owner satisfaction, solid inventory, and a price trend that still reflects healthy demand. If you are especially price-sensitive, you may want to compare nearby model years and focus on the listings closest to the low end of the range, where the best value is more likely to show up.
