How much does the 2020 Tesla Model Y cost?

Prices are up 6.47% year-over-year — a sign of continued demand for this model year.

There are 1,097 listings available, which gives you a solid pool to compare prices and equipment.

Is the 2020 Tesla Model Y a good car?

Yes — the 2020 Tesla Model Y earns a 4.8/5 user rating, which points to strong owner satisfaction. Owners consistently praise its impressive acceleration, spacious interior, and modern technology, and they also highlight its comfort and safety features. For you, that makes it a strong fit if you want a compact luxury crossover with SUV practicality, a roomy cabin, and EV convenience. With 32.1% of listings marked as good or great deals, there is still some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2020 Tesla Model Y reliable?

Owners rate it 4.8/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback also points to a dependable ownership experience, with praise for comfort, safety features, and the convenience of avoiding gas stops. That kind of feedback suggests the model has earned trust from drivers who plan to keep it for the long haul. For used buyers, the main long-term risk is making sure the specific vehicle has been cared for well, since condition and history matter more than the badge alone.

What should I look for when buying a used 2020 Tesla Model Y?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 77.3% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should start with a history report so you can confirm the car’s background and spot any prior damage or title issues. Then prioritize a thorough inspection of the touchscreen-based controls, ride quality, and overall condition, since those are the areas that most affect day-to-day ownership. It also helps to focus on how the cabin, cargo areas, and charging-related equipment have held up, because those details shape the value of a used EV.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2020 Tesla Model Y?

This looks like a moderate market, so you can be selective without expecting a deep bargain on every listing.

• Deal availability: 32.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 1,097 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices are up 6.47% year-over-year.
• Clean inventory: 77.3% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $23,257, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2020 Tesla Model Y's resale value?

The current average of $26,340 sits slightly above last year's $24,738.

That upward move suggests the market has been willing to pay more for this model year, which can help support resale strength if you buy carefully. If you keep the vehicle in good condition and avoid examples with questionable history, you may be better positioned when it is time to sell. Strong demand in the used market can help offset depreciation, especially for a model with broad appeal.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.8/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2020 Tesla Model Y or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2020 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2020 if:

• 32.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 77.3% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices are up 6.47% year-over-year.
• Owners rate it 4.8/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: The 2020 is a strong choice if you want the core Model Y experience at a used price and value the combination of range, space, and owner satisfaction. If you are especially price-sensitive, you may want to compare nearby years and shop for the best-condition example rather than focusing only on model year.
