Used 2020 Nissan Versa for Sale near Alabama

How much does the 2020 Nissan Versa cost?

Prices have softened 4.92% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 681 listings available, which gives you a decent amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2020 Nissan Versa a good car?

Yes — the 2020 Nissan Versa earns a 4.71/5 user rating and a 7.17/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Cost effectiveness at 9/10.

Drivers consistently praise its great value for the price, comfort, and impressive fuel efficiency, and many note that it offers technology and features usually found in more expensive cars. The trade-offs are fairly pedestrian performance and a cramped back seat. For you, that means the Versa makes the most sense if you want an affordable small car that feels more polished and better equipped than its price suggests, rather than something sporty or especially roomy. Good and great deals account for 27.8% of listings, which suggests there are still some attractive opportunities in the market.

Is the 2020 Nissan Versa reliable?

Owners rate it 4.71/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

User feedback points to a dependable, trouble-free ownership experience overall, with drivers especially appreciating the car’s value and fuel efficiency. The expert evaluation also emphasizes that the Versa gives you more for your money than its bargain reputation suggests, which supports the idea that it can be a sensible long-term choice if you buy carefully. The main ownership risk for used buyers is making sure the car has been maintained well and that any braking concerns or prior damage are checked before you commit.

What should I look for when buying a used 2020 Nissan Versa?

At 64% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report and then prioritize a close inspection of body panels, paint consistency, and repair quality. Because this car is positioned as a value play, condition matters a lot: a clean, well-kept example is much easier to recommend than one with questionable repairs or heavy wear. If possible, have a mechanic check the brakes, since owner feedback mentions concerns there.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The S trim is the most basic version, with steel wheels, hubcaps, cloth seating, a 7-inch touchscreen, Bluetooth, remote keyless entry, push-button start, and a manual driver’s seat. The SV adds alloy wheels, heated mirrors, upgraded cloth, and a better infotainment setup, while the SR brings 17-inch alloys, fog lights, automatic climate control, and passive-entry convenience. The S is the most stripped-down, while the SV is the best balance of price and equipment.
• Powertrain: The Versa uses a 1.6-liter 4-cylinder engine with 122 horsepower and 114 pound-feet of torque. You can get a 5-speed manual on the S or a CVT on the SV and SR, and the CVT is the better fit if you want easier everyday driving and stronger fuel economy.
• Safety package: Standard driver-assistance features include automatic emergency braking, pedestrian detection, lane-departure warning, and automatic high beams. You also get a reversing camera, front- and side-impact airbags, and Easy Fill Tire Alert. These features are standard across the lineup, which is a major advantage for a budget car.
• Infotainment: Every trim gets a 7-inch touchscreen, Bluetooth, Siri Eyes Free, hands-free text messaging, and three USB ports. The SV adds NissanConnect with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, plus a more advanced digital instrument display.
• Fuel efficiency: With the manual transmission, the Versa returns 27 mpg city, 35 highway, and 30 combined. With the CVT, it returns 32/40/35.

Which 2020 Nissan Versa trim should I buy?

The 2020 Nissan Versa is offered in 3 trim levels: S, SV, and SR.

Here's the short version:

• S: This is the cheapest way into the Versa, and it gives you the core value story: standard safety tech, a 7-inch touchscreen, Bluetooth, push-button start, and three USB ports. It makes sense if your priority is the lowest entry price, but it is the bare-bones choice.
• SV: This is the best-value trim. It adds alloy wheels, heated mirrors, upgraded cloth, NissanConnect with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and a more useful digital instrument display. If you want the strongest mix of price, tech, and everyday livability, this is the trim to target.
• SR: This is the most upscale version, with 17-inch alloy wheels, fog lights, automatic climate control, and passive-entry convenience. It is the right pick if you want the most features and a more polished feel, but it is less compelling on value than the SV.

Safety equipment is standard across the lineup, so you do not need to move up a trim just to get the core driver-assistance features.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2020 Nissan Versa?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently but still move quickly on the right car.

• Deal availability: 27.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 681 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 4.92% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 64.0% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $10,823, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2020 Nissan Versa's resale value?

The current average of $11,258 sits slightly below last year's $11,840.

That decline suggests the Versa has softened in the market, which can work against you if you buy at the wrong price. On the other hand, the lower current average may help you enter at a more reasonable cost basis than buyers saw a year ago. If you keep the car in clean condition and avoid overpaying up front, you should be in a better position when it comes time to sell. Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.71/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2020 Nissan Versa safe?

The 2020 Nissan Versa earns an 8/10 safety score from our experts.

It comes with standard automatic emergency braking, pedestrian detection, lane-departure warning, and automatic high beams, along with a reversing camera and a full set of front- and side-impact airbags. That standard safety suite is a major strength for a budget car, and it helps the Versa feel more competitive than many low-cost rivals. The main caveat is that repair costs can rise if the driver-assistance hardware is damaged in a minor collision.

Should I buy a 2020 Nissan Versa or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2020 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2020 if:

• 27.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 64% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 4.92% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.71/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• It brings a stronger value story, better safety tech, and a more polished driving experience than the old Versa.

The bottom line: If you want the best mix of price, standard safety tech, and improved everyday livability, the 2020 Versa is the one to focus on. If you are especially price-sensitive, you should still compare individual listings carefully and prioritize the cleanest, best-maintained car you can find, since condition and accident history matter a lot in this segment.
