Used 2020 Nissan Rogue for Sale nearBaton Rouge, LA

How much does the 2020 Nissan Rogue cost?

Prices have softened 6.89% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 3,994 listings available, which gives you a solid amount of inventory to compare before you buy.

Is the 2020 Nissan Rogue a good car?

Yes — the 2020 Nissan Rogue earns a 4.67/5 user rating and a 6.00/10 expert rating. The model scores 7/10 across Look and feel, Form and function, and Technology.

Owners consistently praise its comfort, driving experience, cargo space, and gas mileage. That lines up with the Rogue’s role as an easy-to-live-with compact crossover for everyday practicality, especially if you value a familiar layout and broad appeal over excitement.

The trade-offs are clear: the expert review calls out poor value for money, sluggish performance, and unintuitive technology. Even so, if you want a mainstream crossover that prioritizes comfort and usefulness, the Rogue still fits that brief well.

About 32.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals, so there are still attractive opportunities in the market.

Is the 2020 Nissan Rogue reliable?

Owners rate it 4.67/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback also points to a dependable, trouble-free ownership experience for many shoppers, with comfort and everyday usability standing out over time. That kind of feedback matters if you want a used crossover you can count on for routine driving.

The expert review reinforces that this is a familiar, straightforward SUV rather than a complicated one, which can help long-term ownership feel more predictable. Still, you should expect used-car wear-and-tear to matter, so a careful inspection is important before you commit.

What should I look for when buying a used 2020 Nissan Rogue?

At 69.2% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report and confirm whether any prior damage was repaired properly. After that, prioritize a pre-purchase inspection so you can check for signs of bodywork, uneven panel gaps, tire wear, and any issues that might affect daily drivability.

Focus on the condition of the cabin, infotainment system, and driver-assistance features, since those are central to the Rogue’s appeal. If you’re comparing multiple listings, pay close attention to how well the equipment works rather than just whether it’s present.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: Available in S, SV, and SL trim levels with a single engine and transmission combination and a choice between front-wheel drive and all-wheel drive. The cabin and materials feel older in the lower-spec setup, while the SL adds more visual appeal with 19-inch aluminum wheels.
• Powertrain: A 170-horsepower 2.5-liter four-cylinder pairs with a continuously variable automatic transmission. It is adequate for everyday use, but it can feel slow when merging, passing, or climbing grades.
• Safety package: Safety Shield 360 is standard and includes forward-collision warning with pedestrian detection, automatic emergency braking for the front and rear, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, lane departure warning, and automatic high-beam headlights. ProPilot Assist and a surround-view camera are available, but they are not standard.
• Infotainment: Every Rogue includes a 7-inch touchscreen, Bluetooth, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and a hands-free text messaging assistant. Higher trims can add navigation, SiriusXM, a Bose premium sound system, and NissanConnect Services with remote access features.
• Fuel efficiency: The EPA says front-wheel-drive versions should return 29 mpg in combined driving, though testing returned 24.9 mpg on a mixed loop.

Which 2020 Nissan Rogue trim should I buy?

The 2020 Nissan Rogue is offered in 3 trim levels: S, SV, and SL.

Here's the short version:

• S: This is the entry point, and it gives you the Rogue’s core value proposition: standard Safety Shield 360, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and the same basic powertrain as the rest of the lineup. It makes sense if you want the lowest-cost way into the model.
• SV: This is the best-value trim for most shoppers because it sits in the middle and should give you a better balance of equipment and price than the base model. If you want a more complete daily driver without stretching to the top trim, this is the one to focus on.
• SL: This is the most upscale version, and it stands out with 19-inch aluminum wheels and the more premium presentation described in the review. It suits you if you care more about appearance and available features than minimizing purchase price.

Safety Shield 360 is standard across the lineup, while ProPilot Assist and the surround-view camera are available rather than standard.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2020 Nissan Rogue?

The market looks moderately favorable if you’re a selective buyer.

• Deal availability: 32.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 3,994 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 6.89% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 69.2% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $15,239, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2020 Nissan Rogue's resale value?

The current average of $15,417 sits slightly below last year's $16,557.

That decline suggests the Rogue has softened in the used market, which can work against you if you buy at the wrong price. For a future seller, that means resale value may be more sensitive to condition, mileage, and equipment than to the badge alone.

The good news is that the model still has broad shopper appeal because it’s practical, familiar, and well-liked by owners. If you buy carefully and keep the vehicle in strong condition, that can help support demand when it’s time to sell.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.67/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2020 Nissan Rogue safe?

The 2020 Nissan Rogue earns a four-star overall rating from NHTSA due to a three-star driver rating in frontal-impact testing, and it does not earn a Top Safety Pick designation from IIHS.

It earns a 6/10 safety score from our experts.

Safety Shield 360 is standard, and it bundles forward-collision warning with pedestrian detection, automatic emergency braking for the front and rear, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, lane departure warning, and automatic high-beam headlights. Rear Door Alert and Tire Fill Alert are also included, while ProPilot Assist and a surround-view camera are available on some trims.

The main caveat is that the crash-test results are not class-leading, especially the frontal-impact result that keeps the Rogue from earning a stronger safety reputation. If safety is a top priority, you should pay close attention to the specific equipment on the listing you’re considering.

Should I buy a 2020 Nissan Rogue or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2020 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2020 if:

• 32.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 69.2% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 6.89% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.67/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The expert review says dealers will be eager to move remaining stock, which can translate into stronger negotiating room.

Consider the 2021 if:

• At $18,632, the 2021 costs more than the current year's $15,417 average.
• It brings an all-new redesign with a more updated feel.

The bottom line: If you want the lower purchase price and are comfortable with an older design, the 2020 is the better value play. If you can stretch your budget and want a more thoroughly updated SUV, the 2021 is the smarter long-term choice. For price-sensitive buyers, the 2020 still makes sense as long as you verify condition and shop carefully.
