Used 2020 Nissan Murano for Sale nearBaton Rouge, LA

How much does the 2020 Nissan Murano cost?

Prices have softened 11.42% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 1,315 listings available, which gives you a solid pool of options to compare.

Is the 2020 Nissan Murano a good car?

Yes — owners rate it 4.8/5, and our experts give it 7/10. The Murano’s comfort, smooth ride, and feature content come through repeatedly in owner feedback, along with praise for its upscale feel. The expert review also gives it an 8/10 for Form and function and Safety.

The model scores 8/10 across Form and function and Safety.

You should also weigh the trade-offs: the design is aging, and the technology feels outdated versus newer rivals. That matters most if you want the latest cabin tech, but the Murano still fits well if you value a relaxed, upscale-leaning two-row SUV.

Only 33.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals, so the market is selective rather than flooded with bargains.

Is the 2020 Nissan Murano reliable?

Owners rate it 4.8/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction. Owner feedback also points to a dependable, trouble-free ownership experience, with many drivers saying they’d count on its comfort and everyday usability over time.

The expert review reinforces that impression by describing the V6 and CVT combination as quiet and solid, with highway passing power that feels confident. It also notes that the Murano’s maintenance and ownership costs are competitive enough to keep it in the conversation for practical buyers.

For used shoppers, the main long-term risk is less about outright mechanical weakness and more about age-related wear and the possibility that the vehicle’s dated design may feel less current over time.

What should I look for when buying a used 2020 Nissan Murano?

At 69.7% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report and then prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if the listing price looks unusually strong. Focus on condition, prior damage, and whether the equipment level matches what you expect for the trim. If you want the best value, compare feature content carefully so you do not overpay for a lower trim with missing equipment.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The Murano is sold in S, SV, SL, and Platinum grades. The base trim is the bare-bones version, while SV adds heated outside mirrors, adaptive cruise control, and rear sonar; SL adds traffic-sign recognition technology; and Platinum adds a leather-wrapped steering wheel.
• Powertrain: The standard 3.5-liter V6 makes 260 horsepower and 240 pound-feet of torque, paired with a CVT. It is not the quickest off the line, but it has no trouble overtaking on the highway, and all-wheel drive is available.
• Safety package: Safety Shield 360 is standard on SV, SL, and Platinum. It includes forward-collision warning with automatic emergency braking and pedestrian detection, blind-spot monitoring and warning, rear cross-traffic alert, lane-departure warning, high beam assist, and rear automatic braking. The base trim does not get this suite.
• Infotainment: Every Murano gets an 8-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, four USB ports, Bluetooth, satellite radio, a six-speaker audio system, and voice recognition. Higher trims can add an 11-speaker Bose system, HD Radio, navigation, and NissanConnect Services on Platinum.
• Fuel efficiency: The Murano returns 20 mpg in the city and 28 mpg on the highway, with 23 mpg combined.

Which 2020 Nissan Murano trim should I buy?

The 2020 Nissan Murano is offered in 4 trim levels: S, SV, SL, Platinum.

Here's the short version:

• S: This is the entry point, but it is the most stripped-down version of the Murano. Choose it only if you want the lowest starting price and are comfortable giving up the added convenience and safety content found higher up.
• SV: This is the best-value trim for most shoppers because it adds heated outside mirrors, adaptive cruise control, rear sonar, and the Safety Shield 360 suite. It gives you the most important upgrades without pushing you into the highest price tiers.
• SL: This trim builds on SV with traffic-sign recognition technology and a more upscale wheel setup. It makes sense if you want a more premium feel and are willing to pay more for it.
• Platinum: This is the top trim, with premium appointments and a leather-wrapped steering wheel. It suits you best if you want the most upscale Murano experience and are willing to pay for it.

Safety Shield 360 is standard on SV, SL, and Platinum, but not on S.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2020 Nissan Murano?

This is a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully without expecting every listing to be a bargain.

• Deal availability: 33.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 1,315 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 11.42% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 69.7% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $17,056, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2020 Nissan Murano's resale value?

The current average of $17,056 sits slightly below last year's $19,255.

That price movement suggests the Murano has already absorbed a meaningful amount of depreciation, which can help limit near-term downside for a future seller. If you buy at or below the current market average, you may have a better chance of holding value than someone who paid closer to the model’s earlier pricing. The key is to buy well, because resale strength depends heavily on condition, mileage, and trim.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.8/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2020 Nissan Murano safe?

The 2020 Nissan Murano earns all "good" IIHS ratings except in the headlight category where it was not rated and the front crash prevention test where it received a "superior" mark. It earns four-star ratings in rollover and five-star ratings in all other NHTSA tests.

It earns an 8/10 safety score from our experts.

Safety Shield 360 is standard on SV, SL, and Platinum, and it includes forward-collision warning with automatic emergency braking and pedestrian detection, blind-spot monitoring and warning, rear cross-traffic alert, lane-departure warning, high beam assist, and rear automatic braking. The base S trim does not get that full suite.

One caveat is that the Murano does not offer the more advanced driver-assist setup found in some rivals, including Nissan’s ProPilot Assist.

Should I buy a 2020 Nissan Murano or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2020 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2020 if:

• 33.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 69.7% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 11.42% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.8/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• It adds Safety Shield 360 on SV, SL, and Platinum, which strengthens the safety story for this year.

Consider the 2021 if:

• At $18,580, the 2021 costs more than the current year's $17,056 average.
• It carries over largely unchanged, but adds some additional standard safety features.

The bottom line: If you want the better value, the 2020 is the stronger buy because it has a lower average price and a meaningful amount of inventory to shop. If you are willing to spend more for a newer model year with a few added safety features, the 2021 is the cleaner alternative.
