Overview

It’s time to say goodbye to the Mercedes-Benz SLC-Class roadster. The SLC-Class, which Mercedes-Benz introduced in 2017 as a successor to the SLK-Class, offers a combination of style and performance. For 2020, both SLC-Class trim levels get an exclusive Final Edition to commemorate the model’s run. Competitors include luxury roadsters such as the Jaguar F-Type and the BMW Z4.
The SLC roadster features an elegant folding hardtop, large front and short rear overhangs, and aggressive-looking side vents, giving it a distinctive look. The SLC 300 Final Edition comes finished in Selenite Gray and features an AMG Styling front bumper, chrome trim, and special badging. The AMG SLC 43 Final Edition gets an exclusive Sun Yellow finish, which is a welcome throwback to the Yellowstone hue that marked the SLK-Class’ launch. Gloss black trim and matte black 18-inch wheels with a yellow rim provide contrast.
The SLC 300 comes powered by a 2.0-liter turbocharged inline 4-cylinder engine making 241 horsepower and 273 pound-feet of torque. The SLC 300 Final Edition enjoys a performance upgrade thanks to standard sport suspension and upgraded brakes. The AMG version features a 3.0-liter twin-turbocharged V6 engine good for 385 hp and 384 lb-ft of torque. Both get a 9-speed automatic transmission and rear-wheel drive (RWD). The SLC 300 is EPA-rated for 23 mpg city, 32 highway, and 27 combined. The AMG version is rated for 20 mpg city, 29 highway, and 23 combined.
Features such as power-adjustable sport seats, synthetic leather upholstery, and a panoramic sunroof come standard in the SLC-Class, while options include push-button start, heated seats, upholstery upgrades, and the neck-warming Airscarf feature. The Final Edition trim features two-tone leather with grey stitching, an exclusive interior trim, an upgraded steering wheel, heated seats, the Airscarf feature, and the Memory package for seat and mirror settings.
Regardless of trim level, the SLC-Class features a 7-inch infotainment display and HD Radio. Options include satellite radio, a premium Harman Kardon audio system, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, navigation, and voice control.
Standard safety features in the SLC-Class include a reversing camera, driver-drowsiness monitoring, and active brake assist. The AMG trim also includes adaptive high-beam assist. Options include adaptive cruise control, lane-keeping assist, and parking assist. The SLC-Class has not been crash-tested by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) and the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), which is typical for vehicles in this class.
All good things must eventually come to an end, and the 2020 Final Edition is a fitting sendoff to the Mercedes-Benz SLC-Class. The 2020 Mercedes-Benz and Mercedes-AMG SLC Final Editions will be available in dealerships in 2020.
