Used 2020 Mercedes-Benz GLE for Sale nearBaton Rouge, LA

How much does the 2020 Mercedes-Benz GLE cost?

Prices have softened 12.46% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 1,849 listings available, which suggests you have a meaningful amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2020 Mercedes-Benz GLE a good car?

Yes — the 2020 Mercedes-Benz GLE earns a 4.57/5 user rating and a 6.83/10 expert rating. The model scores 8/10 across Look and feel and Form and function.

Owners consistently praise the luxurious feel, smooth ride, spacious interior, and modern technology, and they also like it as a family-friendly road-trip SUV. The main trade-offs are missing features in some models and pricing that can climb quickly.

That fits the GLE’s role as a luxury SUV for buyers who want comfort, space, and a polished cabin more than a stripped-down value play. With 36.7% of listings marked as good or great deals, there is still some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2020 Mercedes-Benz GLE reliable?

Owners rate it 4.57/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

Reviewers describe it as dependable in everyday use, with a reputation for a smooth, trouble-free ownership experience when properly maintained. The powertrain is also described as smooth and powerful, which supports confidence in long-term drivability.

The available safety and driver-assistance systems are meant to reduce fatigue and help on longer drives, but the technology can be frustrating in practice. For used buyers, the biggest long-term risk is less about basic durability and more about whether the vehicle’s complex features have been maintained and are working correctly.

What should I look for when buying a used 2020 Mercedes-Benz GLE?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 81.8% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should still check the history report carefully, because a clean listing percentage does not replace a proper records review. Prioritize a pre-purchase inspection that focuses on electronics, driver-assistance behavior, and any signs that optional equipment is not functioning as intended. Pay close attention to condition on the interior and technology features, since this model’s appeal depends heavily on comfort and usability.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The base GLE 350 starts with a 2.0-liter turbocharged engine, and the available options can quickly push the price much higher. The cabin can be upgraded with features like leather upholstery, multi-contour front seats with massage, heated and ventilated front seats, heated rear seats, power rear-window blinds, 4-zone climate control, soft-close doors, and premium trim pieces, so you should compare equipment carefully before paying more for a higher-spec example.
• Powertrain: The GLE 350 uses a turbocharged 2.0-liter 4-cylinder with 255 horsepower and 273 pound-feet of torque. It is smooth and strong once moving, but it can feel sluggish from a stop and show noticeable turbo lag.
• Safety package: The available Driver Assistance Package Plus adds autonomous safety features and strong Level 2 capability, including adaptive cruise, auto braking, blind-spot monitoring, and lane-keep assist. The system can be frustrating at speed, and the surround-view camera is not included with that package.
• Infotainment: The GLE uses the MBUX system with two 12.3-inch screens, wireless charging available through a package, a head-up display, augmented-reality navigation, and the MBUX interior assistant. The system is advanced, but it can feel deep and daunting at first.
• Fuel efficiency: The AWD GLE 350 returns 19 mpg city, 26 highway, 22 combined.

Which 2020 Mercedes-Benz GLE trim should I buy?

The 2020 Mercedes-Benz GLE is offered in 1 trim level: GLE 350.

Here's the short version:

The GLE 350 is the trim to focus on if you want the redesigned cabin, strong comfort, and the newest tech without chasing the pricier upper-end versions. It gives you the core GLE experience, including the roomy interior and polished feel, while leaving room to add the options that matter most to you. If you want the best value, start here and look for a well-equipped example rather than paying up for a heavily optioned one.

The available safety package adds useful driver-assistance features, but the system can be frustrating at higher speeds, so test it carefully on your route.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2020 Mercedes-Benz GLE?

This is a moderate market for selective buyers, so you can shop with some leverage if you stay patient.

• Deal availability: 36.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 1,849 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 12.46% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 81.8% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $27,281, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2020 Mercedes-Benz GLE's resale value?

The current average of $27,281 sits slightly below last year's $31,162.

That decline suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can help you buy at a more favorable entry point today. For a future seller, it also means you should expect resale value to depend heavily on condition, mileage, and equipment rather than assuming the model will hold its price automatically.

Well-kept examples with desirable features should remain easier to move than stripped or neglected ones, especially because shoppers in this segment tend to compare equipment closely. Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.57/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2020 Mercedes-Benz GLE safe?

It earns a 5/10 safety score from our experts.

The available driver-assistance suite includes adaptive cruise, auto braking, blind-spot monitoring, lane-keep assist, Attention Assist, and Seat Kinetics. It is designed to help with fatigue and longer drives, but the system can be overly intrusive and unpredictable at speed, where it may wander in the lane and react poorly to shadows or merging situations.

That means you should treat the safety tech as a helpful aid rather than something you can fully trust in every situation. If you are shopping used, make sure the assistance features work properly and test them on a road that reflects how you actually drive.

Should I buy a 2020 Mercedes-Benz GLE or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2020 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2020 if:

• 36.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 81.8% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 12.46% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.57/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The redesigned cabin brings roomier packaging and Mercedes’ newest MBUX technology.

Consider the 2021 if:

• At $38,356, the 2021 costs more than the current year's $27,281 average.
• It adds GLE Coupe models for a more distinctive look.

The bottom line: If you want the better value, the 2020 is the smarter buy because it delivers the redesign, strong comfort, and lower pricing. If you are willing to spend more for a newer model-year option and a more distinctive body style, the 2021 is worth a look, but price-sensitive buyers should stay focused on the 2020.
