How much does the 2020 Mercedes-Benz GLB cost?

Is the 2020 Mercedes-Benz GLB a good car?

Generally — the 2020 Mercedes-Benz GLB earns a 4.14/5 user rating and an 8.5/10 expert rating. The model scores 10/10 across Form and function, Technology, and Safety.

Owners consistently praise its great design, premium features, and versatility, and many also like its comfortable size and fuel efficiency. The GLB’s practical packaging and upscale feel line up well with its role as a small luxury SUV that prioritizes usefulness.

The trade-offs are that the ride can feel a bit rough and some interior materials draw criticism. It also fits buyers who want everyday practicality and premium branding more than outright performance.

Good and great deals account for 31.8% of listings, which suggests there are still some attractive opportunities in the market.

Is the 2020 Mercedes-Benz GLB reliable?

Owners rate it 4.14/5, a solid signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback points to a vehicle that many people find dependable enough to live with day to day, with praise centered on its versatility, comfortable size, and premium-feeling design. The expert review also describes the GLB as a practical, thoughtfully packaged SUV that makes strong use of its space, which supports the case for steady ownership.

Mercedes also includes a free emergency call service for as long as you own the GLB, which is a useful ownership perk. For used buyers, the main long-term risk is that some desirable features can push the price up, so condition and equipment level matter a lot.

What should I look for when buying a used 2020 Mercedes-Benz GLB?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 79.8% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should still check the history report carefully, because accident-free listings are common but not universal. A pre-purchase inspection should focus on the brakes, since the expert review notes they can fade prematurely. You should also pay close attention to interior condition and feature content, because some buyers question material quality and many of the most desirable options raise the price quickly.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The GLB 250 and GLB 250 4Matic are the two specification levels mentioned, and the 4Matic version adds all-wheel drive. The base setup is more straightforward, while the better-equipped examples can include premium displays, upgraded audio, and other high-end touches.
• Powertrain: Both versions use a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine with 221 horsepower and 258 lb-ft of torque, paired with an eight-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. The 4Matic setup sends power rearward as needed, and an Off-Road driving mode can lock in a 50:50 split for maximum traction.
• Safety package: Standard equipment includes a driver monitoring system, backup camera, forward collision warning with pedestrian detection, automatic emergency braking, and Pre-Safe front collision preparation. The optional Driver Assistance Package adds adaptive cruise control, lane-centering assistance, evasive steering assistance, automatic emergency stop assistance, and additional Pre-Safe enhancements.
• Infotainment: Standard MBUX includes Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, and the available Premium Package upgrades the SUV to twin 10.25-inch displays. The system also offers natural voice recognition, and the Multimedia Package adds navigation with augmented video.
• Fuel efficiency: The expert test loop returned 21.4 mpg, while the EPA estimate was 26 mpg.

Which 2020 Mercedes-Benz GLB trim should I buy?

The 2020 Mercedes-Benz GLB is offered in 2 trim levels: GLB 250 and GLB 250 4Matic.

Here's the short version:

• GLB 250: This is the simpler starting point, and it makes the GLB’s practical packaging and premium feel accessible without adding all-wheel drive. It suits you if you want the lowest-cost path into the model and are comfortable with the standard front-wheel-drive setup.
• GLB 250 4Matic: This is the better choice if you want the added traction of all-wheel drive and a more confidence-inspiring setup for mixed weather. It also pairs well with the GLB’s available premium tech and comfort options, making it the best-value pick for many shoppers who want the most complete version of the model.

The optional Driver Assistance Package is the key safety add-on to look for, since it brings the GLB’s most advanced driver-assistance features.

Should I buy a 2020 Mercedes-Benz GLB or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2020 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2020 if:

• 31.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 79.8% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 12.81% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.14/5 — a solid satisfaction signal.
• The 2020 GLB emphasizes utility over style and offers impressive technology, engaging driving character, and strong practicality.

Consider the 2021 if:

• At $22,930, the 2021 costs more than the current year's $20,198 average.
• It adds an optional third row that raises seating capacity from five to seven.

The bottom line: If you want the lower purchase price and a practical, well-liked small luxury SUV, the 2020 is the smarter starting point. If you need extra passenger capacity and can spend more, the 2021 is the better fit.
