Is the 2020 Lexus NX reliable?

For used buyers, that usually means lower long-term ownership risk than you might expect from a luxury crossover.

What should I look for when buying a used 2020 Lexus NX?

At 68.1% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report so you can separate clean examples from those with prior damage. Then prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if the listing price looks unusually attractive. Focus on overall condition, equipment level, and whether the vehicle matches the features you want, since desirable options can vary a lot from one NX to another.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2020 Lexus NX?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully and still find worthwhile deals.

• Deal availability: 36.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 1,042 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 1.41% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 68.1% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $25,587, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2020 Lexus NX's resale value?

The current average of $26,902 sits slightly below last year's $27,288.

That softer pricing can help you buy at a more favorable entry point, but it also suggests resale values may be under a bit of pressure compared with a year ago. If you plan to sell later, condition and mileage will matter even more because buyers will likely compare your NX against similarly priced listings. Strong equipment and a clean history should help your vehicle stand out when it is time to trade or sell.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.8/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2020 Lexus NX or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2020 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2020 if:

• 36.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 68.1% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 1.41% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.8/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2021 if:

• At $28,585, the 2021 costs more than the current year's $26,902 average.
• It adds a quieter cabin and a more comfortable ride.

The bottom line: If you want the better value today, the 2020 is the stronger starting point because pricing has eased and owner satisfaction is high. If you can spend more and want the next year’s comfort and refinement, the 2021 is the better secondary path for buyers who prioritize those upgrades over price.
