Used 2020 Jeep Renegade for Sale nearSyracuse, NY

How much does the 2020 Jeep Renegade cost?

Prices have softened 11.40% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 1,348 listings available, which gives you a solid pool of options to compare.

Is the 2020 Jeep Renegade a good car?

Generally — the 2020 Jeep Renegade earns a 4.3/5 user rating and a 7.00/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Technology at 9/10.

Drivers consistently praise its smooth ride, comfort, and spacious interior, and they also like how it handles highways and tougher terrain. The Renegade’s personality and distinctive Jeep styling help it stand out, especially if you want something with more character than a typical small crossover.

The trade-offs are clear: performance is fairly pedestrian, the transmission can be irritating, and value for money is poor if you want the extras. If you want a subcompact SUV with Jeep identity and easy-to-use tech, it fits that brief well; if you want the most substance for the money, it is less compelling.

Only 31.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals, so the market is selective rather than broadly discounted.

Is the 2020 Jeep Renegade reliable?

Owners rate it 4.3/5, a solid signal of long-term satisfaction.

User feedback points to a dependable-feeling ownership experience, with drivers highlighting comfort and a smooth ride that make it easy to live with over time. The expert review also describes the Renegade as a vehicle that can handle everyday driving while still offering off-road capability, which supports its long-term appeal for buyers who want a distinctive small SUV.

The cost-effectiveness review also notes that Jeep often offers rebates and discounts, which can help offset ownership costs when you buy carefully. For used buyers, the main long-term risk is that a model with this much personality can still be less appealing if you prioritize low running costs and trouble-free simplicity above all else.

What should I look for when buying a used 2020 Jeep Renegade?

At 69.1% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report and then prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if the listing price looks unusually attractive. Focus on condition, maintenance records, and whether the vehicle’s equipment matches the trim you expect, since the Renegade’s value can swing a lot based on features.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: Sport, Latitude, Limited, and Trailhawk are the primary trims, and the base Sport starts with a more basic setup than the higher trims. The Trailhawk is the version best suited for off-roading, while the higher trims add the more upscale look and equipment that make the Renegade feel less bare-bones.
• Powertrain: Most Renegades use a 2.4-liter four-cylinder with 180 horsepower, while a turbocharged 1.3-liter four-cylinder is available on higher trims with 177 horsepower and 210 lb-ft of torque. The turbo feels more energetic, but the transmission can hesitate and the setup is tuned more for fuel economy than smooth response.
• Safety package: The Advanced Tech Group adds adaptive cruise control, full-speed forward collision warning with automatic emergency braking, lane departure warning, lane-keeping assistance, automatic high-beam headlights, and parking assist. The Safety and Security Group adds blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic warning.
• Infotainment: The Renegade’s Uconnect system uses an 8.4-inch touchscreen, and it includes Bluetooth, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, Amazon Alexa integration, and a Wi-Fi hotspot. The interface is a strong point because it is simple and easy to use.
• Fuel efficiency: The turbocharged 1.3-liter averaged 23.6 mpg in testing, versus an EPA estimate of 26 mpg in combined driving.

Which 2020 Jeep Renegade trim should I buy?

The 2020 Jeep Renegade is offered in 4 trim levels: Sport, Latitude, Limited, and Trailhawk.

Here's the short version:

• Sport: This is the entry point, so it makes sense if you want the lowest starting price and the Renegade’s core personality without paying for extras. It is the trim most likely to feel basic, so it works best if you care more about the Jeep look than a long feature list.
• Latitude: This is the trim to target if you want a better balance of equipment and price. It should be the best-value choice for many shoppers because it moves you beyond the bare essentials without pushing you into the most expensive versions.
• Limited: Choose this if you want a more upscale-feeling Renegade and are willing to pay for it. It is the better fit if you care about the richer cabin presentation and more premium touches.
• Trailhawk: This is the one to buy if off-road capability is your priority. It is the Renegade’s most capable version and the best match for buyers who want the Jeep character to be more than just styling.

The safety package is a strong part of the Renegade story, but some advanced driver-assistance features are bundled rather than standard across the lineup.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2020 Jeep Renegade?

This is a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you have room to shop carefully without expecting every listing to be a bargain.

• Deal availability: 31.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 1,348 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 11.40% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 69.1% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $14,488, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2020 Jeep Renegade's resale value?

The current average of $14,488 sits slightly below last year's $16,351.

That decline suggests the Renegade has softened in the used market, which can help you buy at a better entry price today. For a future seller, that also means resale upside may be limited unless your vehicle is in especially strong condition or has desirable equipment.

The Renegade’s distinctive styling and Jeep identity can still support demand among shoppers who want character and available off-road capability. Vehicles with solid owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.3/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2020 Jeep Renegade safe?

The Renegade earns a four-star overall rating from NHTSA, and in side-impact testing, the rear-seat occupants are protected at a three-star level.

It earns a 7/10 safety score from our experts.

The Advanced Tech Group includes adaptive cruise control, full-speed forward collision warning with automatic emergency braking, lane departure warning, lane-keeping assistance, automatic high-beam headlights, and parking assist. The Safety and Security Group adds blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic warning.

The safety tech is broad for the class, but some of it is fairly rudimentary compared with newer systems from rivals. The IIHS also kept the Renegade from carrying forward its Top Safety Pick rating for 2020, which is worth keeping in mind if safety is a top priority.

Should I buy a 2020 Jeep Renegade or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2020 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2020 if:

• 31.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 69.1% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 11.40% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.3/5 — a solid satisfaction signal.
• The 2020 stands out for its easy-to-use technology and available Trail Rated off-road capability.

Consider the 2021 if:

• At $15,912, the 2021 costs more than the current year's $14,488 average.
• The 2021 adds standard advanced safety features and broader everyday practicality.

The bottom line: If you want the lower price and the same core Jeep personality, the 2020 is the better value play. If you are willing to spend more for a newer model with broader standard safety and a more rounded everyday feel, the 2021 is the smarter upgrade.
