How much does the 2020 Honda Accord cost?

Prices have softened 7.41% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 3,060 listings available, which gives you a solid pool of options to compare.

Is the 2020 Honda Accord a good car?

Generally — the 2020 Honda Accord earns a 4.35/5 user rating and an 8.33/10 expert rating. The model scores 9/10 across Look and feel, Form and function, and Technology.

Drivers consistently praise its comfort, stylish design, and great value, and many also highlight the 2.0T engine and advanced features. The Accord is also frequently described as a worthwhile investment, which lines up with its strong everyday usefulness and broad appeal.

The main trade-off is that the base engine is underwhelming, and some owners mention acceleration and transmission concerns. For you, that means the Accord makes the most sense if you want a practical family sedan with a polished feel and strong feature content, rather than the quickest or most engaging option in every trim.

Only 33.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals, so the market is selective rather than flooded with bargains.

Is the 2020 Honda Accord reliable?

Owners rate it 4.35/5, a solid signal of long-term satisfaction.

The user feedback points to a car that many drivers trust for comfort, value, and a worthwhile ownership experience. It is also described as a model people see as a good investment, which supports the idea that it can be dependable over time.

The expert commentary reinforces that impression by describing the Accord as a car that can go the distance and provide a decade or more of faithful, useful, and enjoyable service. The cost-effectiveness notes also emphasize that it holds its value well, which usually aligns with strong long-term ownership confidence.

For used buyers, the main long-term risk is that you should pay close attention to maintenance history and how the drivetrain has aged, especially if you want one of the more powerful versions.

What should I look for when buying a used 2020 Honda Accord?

At 57.3% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report and then prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially on cars with higher mileage or visible cosmetic wear. Focus on how the transmission behaves, whether the electronics work cleanly, and whether the car shows signs of uneven tire wear or prior body repair.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The Accord ranges from LX to Touring, with the Sport and Touring trims getting 19-inch wheels that add visual presence. Lower trims use 17-inch wheels, which are less expensive to replace and make more sense if you care more about long-term value than appearance.
• Powertrain: Most trims use a turbocharged 1.5-liter four-cylinder with front-wheel drive and a CVT, while the hybrid powertrain is aimed at maximum fuel economy. If you want stronger acceleration, the turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder with a ten-speed automatic is the standout choice.
• Safety package: Honda Sensing is standard on every trim and includes forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane departure warning, lane-keeping assist, lane-centering assist, adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go capability, and traffic sign recognition. Blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert is reserved for the Sport 2.0T and EX trim levels or higher.
• Infotainment: The available 8-inch touchscreen includes Bluetooth, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and text-messaging support. Touring adds HondaLink subscription services, a Wi-Fi hotspot, navigation, and wireless device charging.
• Fuel efficiency: The hybrid averaged 42.6 mpg in testing, while the 2.0T returned 27.4 mpg in mixed driving and beat the EPA’s 26 mpg combined estimate.

Which 2020 Honda Accord trim should I buy?

The 2020 Honda Accord is offered in 5 trim levels: LX, Sport, EX, EX-L, and Touring.

Here's the short version:

• LX: This is the entry point, and it makes the most sense if you want the Accord’s core strengths at the lowest cost. You still get the standard safety suite, but you give up some of the visual polish and convenience features found higher up the range.
• Sport: This is the best-value trim for many shoppers because it adds more style and, importantly, is one of the trims tied to blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert. If you want a more appealing look without jumping all the way to luxury-oriented equipment, this is the sweet spot.
• EX: This trim is a smart step up if you want more comfort and also want access to blind-spot monitoring. It is a good fit if you value everyday usability and safety equipment more than appearance upgrades.
• EX-L: This is the right choice if you want a more upscale cabin and the premium sound system that starts here. It suits you best if comfort and interior refinement matter more than keeping the purchase price down.
• Touring: This is the most fully equipped version, with the 8-inch touchscreen, HondaLink, Wi-Fi hotspot, navigation, wireless charging, and a head-up display. Choose it if you want the most technology and convenience in one package.

Honda Sensing is standard across the lineup, but blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert are not universal, so check trim carefully if those features matter to you.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2020 Honda Accord?

This is a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you have room to shop carefully without expecting every listing to be a bargain.

• Deal availability: 33.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 3,060 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 7.41% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 57.3% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $19,836, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2020 Honda Accord's resale value?

The current average of $19,836 sits slightly below last year's $21,422.

That softer pricing can help you as a buyer now, but it also means a future seller may need to be realistic about expectations. The current trend suggests the market has cooled from a year ago, so resale gains are less likely to come from broad appreciation and more likely to come from condition, mileage, and trim desirability.

Well-equipped trims and cars with strong maintenance records should hold up better than rougher examples. If you buy carefully and keep the car in good shape, the Accord’s broad appeal should help support demand later.

Vehicles with solid owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.35/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2020 Honda Accord safe?

The 2020 Honda Accord is a Top Safety Pick from IIHS and earns five-star ratings in every assessment conducted by NHTSA.

It earns an 8/10 safety score from our experts.

Honda Sensing is standard on every trim and includes forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane departure warning, lane-keeping assist, lane-centering assist, adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go capability, and traffic sign recognition. Blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert is not standard across the lineup and is reserved for the Sport 2.0T and EX trim levels or higher.

There are a few caveats to keep in mind. The adaptive cruise control can be a little abrupt, and the forward collision warning and lane departure warning systems can give false alerts in some situations. The lane departure warning also uses steering-wheel movement rather than vibration, which may not be your preference.

Should I buy a 2020 Honda Accord or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2020 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2020 if:

• 33.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 57.3% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 7.41% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.35/5 — a solid satisfaction signal.
• The 2020 stands out for its strong mix of style, comfort, useful tech, and broad trim variety.

Consider the 2021 if:

• At $21,617, the 2021 costs more than the current year's $19,836 average.
• Honda refined the features list and added a trim level.

The bottom line: If you want the better value today, the 2020 is the stronger buy because pricing has eased and the car still delivers the Accord’s core strengths. If you are willing to spend more for a newer version with a more elevated feature set, the 2021 is the better path; otherwise, the 2020 is the smarter choice for price-sensitive shoppers.
