How much does the 2020 GMC Yukon XL cost?

Prices have softened 15.37% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 1,396 listings available, which suggests solid inventory for shoppers comparing prices and trims.

Is the 2020 GMC Yukon XL a good car?

Yes — 5/5 is a strong user rating for the 2020 GMC Yukon XL. The overview shows a big, truck-based SUV built around space and capability, with a long-wheelbase layout that gives you more third-row room and more cargo space behind it than the regular Yukon. It also gives you a wide spread of trims and equipment, so you can prioritize family-hauling utility or move up to a more upscale Denali setup depending on your needs. With 38.0% of listings marked as good or great deals, you have a meaningful chance to find a competitive offer.

Is the 2020 GMC Yukon XL reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The overview points to a traditional chassis and solid rear axle, which reflects a straightforward truck-based design. For used buyers, that means you should think carefully about how the vehicle was maintained and used, since a large SUV built for hauling and towing can face more wear than a smaller family vehicle.

What should I look for when buying a used 2020 GMC Yukon XL?

At 69.6% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a full vehicle history report so you can separate clean examples from those with prior damage. After that, prioritize a thorough pre-purchase inspection, especially on a vehicle this large where suspension, brakes, and interior wear can matter more than cosmetic issues. Focus on overall condition and maintenance records, since the Yukon XL’s size and truck-based layout make upkeep history especially important.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2020 GMC Yukon XL?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully and still find worthwhile opportunities.

• Deal availability: 38.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 1,396 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 15.37% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 69.6% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $27,611, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2020 GMC Yukon XL's resale value?

The current average of $27,611 sits slightly below last year's $32,626.

That price movement suggests the market has softened, which can help you buy at a more favorable entry point today. For a future seller, it also means resale value may depend heavily on condition, mileage, and how well the vehicle has been maintained. Large SUVs with strong demand can still hold appeal, but the current trend shows buyers have more leverage than they did a year ago.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2020 GMC Yukon XL or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2020 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2020 if:

• 38.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 69.6% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 15.37% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line:

If you want the traditional truck-based Yukon XL formula and you value the current price softness, the 2020 is a sensible year to target. It gives you the space, capability, and trim spread that define the model, while the market data suggests there are real opportunities if you shop carefully. If your priority is finding the lowest possible entry price, you may also want to compare nearby years and focus on the cleanest, best-maintained example rather than the newest one you can afford.
