Used 2020 Ford F-150 for Sale nearFort Lauderdale, FL

How much does the 2020 Ford F-150 cost?

Prices have softened 7.60% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 9,712 listings available, which suggests solid inventory for shoppers comparing trims and conditions.

Is the 2020 Ford F-150 a good car?

Yes — the 2020 Ford F-150 earns a 4.72/5 user rating and an 8.33/10 expert rating. The model scores 9/10 across Performance and Form and function.

Owners consistently praise its power, smooth ride, and interior comfort, and they also like the strong engine choices, especially the 3.5L EcoBoost and 5.0L V8. The truck’s broad usefulness also stands out: it works well as a commuter, road-trip vehicle, family hauler, and tow rig.

The main trade-offs are that advanced safety features are not standard and the interior materials can feel cheap. Even so, its mix of comfort, capability, and multiple powertrain options makes it a strong fit if you want one truck that can handle daily life and hard work. Good and great deals account for 34.0% of listings, so there is still room to shop selectively.

Is the 2020 Ford F-150 reliable?

Owners rate it 4.72/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

Owners describe it as powerful, smooth, and comfortable, and the review summary also points to strong engine performance and a truck that feels dependable for everyday use. The expert evaluation reinforces that sense of durability by emphasizing a cabin that focuses on durability and can take a beating.

The truck’s straightforward design and work-ready character support long-term ownership confidence, especially if you want a vehicle that can handle regular use without feeling fragile. For used buyers, the main risk is less about the truck’s core toughness and more about finding one that has been maintained well and not worked harder than its condition suggests.

What should I look for when buying a used 2020 Ford F-150?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 78.3% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should still check the history report carefully, because a clean listing percentage does not replace a vehicle-specific record. Prioritize a pre-purchase inspection that focuses on wear from towing, hauling, and daily use, since those are the jobs this truck is often asked to do. Pay close attention to cabin condition and feature operation, especially on higher-mileage trucks where interior wear and missing convenience equipment can matter.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The XL is the work-truck starting point with steel wheels, manual locks, air conditioning, and a basic driver display, while the XLT adds more convenience and tech. Higher trims bring more comfort and luxury, but the base truck is the one most likely to feel sparse.
• Powertrain: You get a 3.3-liter V6, 2.7-liter EcoBoost V6, 5.0-liter V8, 3.5-liter EcoBoost V6, and 3.0-liter turbodiesel V6. The stronger engines are better suited to towing and hauling, while the base V6 is more for everyday driving.
• Safety package: Ford Co-Pilot360 includes automatic high beams, blind-spot warning with rear cross-traffic alert, lane-departure warning, automatic emergency braking, and adaptive cruise control. These features are not standard across every trim, so check carefully before you buy.
• Infotainment: The XLT’s 8-inch SYNC 3 touchscreen adds Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, enhanced voice recognition, pinch-to-zoom map controls, and smart-charging USB ports. The XL’s basic setup is much simpler unless you add the optional SYNC system.
• Fuel efficiency: The turbodiesel with rear-wheel drive returns 21 mpg city, 29 highway, 24 combined, while the 2.7-liter EcoBoost V6 with rear-wheel drive returns 20 mpg city, 26 highway, 22 combined. The V8 returns 17 mpg city, 23 highway, 19 combined, and the Raptor returns 15 mpg city, 18 highway, 16 combined.

Which 2020 Ford F-150 trim should I buy?

The 2020 Ford F-150 is offered in 7 trim levels: XL, XLT, Lariat, King Ranch, Platinum, Raptor, and Limited.

Here's the short version:

• XL: This is the most basic work-truck choice, with steel wheels, manual locks, air conditioning, and a simple driver display. It makes sense if you want the lowest-frills entry point, but it is the least equipped trim.
• XLT: This is the best-value trim for most shoppers because it adds 17-inch painted aluminum wheels, chrome exterior details, cruise control, SYNC 3, and a WiFi hotspot. It gives you the biggest jump in everyday usability without pushing into luxury pricing.
• Lariat: This trim is the sweet spot if you want more comfort, with push-button start, leather-trimmed seats, heated power-folding mirrors, dual-zone climate control, and power heated and cooled front seats. It is the right pick if you want a more upscale truck without going all the way to the premium trims.
• King Ranch: This trim leans into Western-themed luxury with saddle-leather upholstery, special stitching, a Bang & Olufsen sound system, heated rear seats, and a remote release tailgate. It suits you if style and comfort matter as much as capability.
• Platinum: This trim adds chrome badging, body-color bumpers, LED bed lighting and fog lamps, power outlets, ambient lighting, and Multi-Contour Active Motion seats. It is the choice if you want a more polished, high-comfort truck.
• Raptor: This is the off-road-focused model, with a wider body, lifted suspension, Fox Racing Shox with live valve technology, a Terrain Management System, and enhanced skid plates. It is the one to buy if you specifically want serious off-road hardware.
• Limited: This is the most luxurious version, with 22-inch polished aluminum wheels, premium leather upholstery, a dual-panel moonroof, and satin aluminum exterior accents. It is the top pick if you want the most comfort and the richest feature set.

Ford also makes pre-collision assist with automatic emergency braking standard, including on the XL, while other driver-assistance features are available or standard on higher trims through Ford Co-Pilot360.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2020 Ford F-150?

This is a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully and still find worthwhile listings.

• Deal availability: 34.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 9,712 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 7.60% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 78.3% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $28,014, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2020 Ford F-150's resale value?

The current average of $28,027 sits slightly below last year's $30,334.

That price movement suggests the market has cooled enough to give you better entry pricing now, but it also means future sellers may face a softer resale environment than owners saw a year ago. If you buy at the right price and keep the truck in strong condition, you can help protect value when it is time to sell. Trim choice and condition will matter a lot, especially because well-equipped trucks tend to attract more interest on the used market.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.72/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2020 Ford F-150 safe?

The 2020 Ford F-150 SuperCrew trucks received five-star ratings from NHTSA, and the SuperCrew F-150 received top marks from IIHS in its various crash tests.

It earns an 8/10 safety score from our experts.

Ford makes pre-collision assist with automatic emergency braking standard, including on the XL trim. Ford Co-Pilot360 adds automatic high beams, blind-spot warning with rear cross-traffic alert, lane-departure warning, automatic emergency braking, and adaptive cruise control on higher trims or as available equipment. The base XL can also be had with a reverse sensing system.

One caveat is that the crash-test results are strongest for the SuperCrew, while the SuperCab and regular cab scored lower in NHTSA testing. That makes cab choice worth paying attention to if safety is a top priority.

Should I buy a 2020 Ford F-150 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2020 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2020 if:

• 34.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 78.3% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 7.60% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.72/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The 2020 model balances comfort, capability, and multiple powertrain choices in a familiar package.

Consider the 2019 if:

• At $25,920, the 2019 costs less than the current year's $28,027 average.
• It is a familiar, proven pickup with modest updates and broad usefulness.

Consider the 2021 if:

• At $32,317, the 2021 costs more than the current year's $28,027 average.
• It adds a redesigned interior, more technology, and an available hybrid powertrain.

The bottom line: If you want the best balance of price, capability, and everyday usability, the 2020 is the smart middle ground. If your budget is tighter, the 2019 can save you money while still delivering the core F-150 formula. If you want newer tech and are willing to pay more, the 2021 is the upgrade path to consider.
