How much does the 2020 Chevrolet Camaro cost?

Prices have softened 5.82% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 1,002 listings available, which suggests solid inventory availability for shoppers.

Is the 2020 Chevrolet Camaro a good car?

Yes — the 2020 Chevrolet Camaro earns a 4.6/5 user rating and a 7.0/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Performance at 9/10.

Owners consistently praise the thrilling performance, strong engine, and fun driving experience. The Camaro also stands out for its handling and its multiple powertrain options, which give you room to prioritize either everyday livability or more serious muscle-car character.

The trade-offs are clear: the cabin has poor ergonomics, and advanced safety features are not standard. In practical terms, this is a car that makes the most sense if you value driving enjoyment and can live with a less accommodating interior.

Good and great deals account for 30.9% of listings, so there is still meaningful market opportunity if you shop carefully.

Is the 2020 Chevrolet Camaro reliable?

Owners rate it 4.6/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback points to a car that feels thrilling and satisfying to live with over time, especially if you care most about performance and driving enjoyment. The expert evaluation also emphasizes the Camaro’s dynamic character and its ability to deliver strong performance without feeling like a compromise in the way it drives.

That said, used buyers should still plan for a careful inspection because this is a performance-focused car with a history of trade-offs in everyday usability.

What should I look for when buying a used 2020 Chevrolet Camaro?

At 63.5% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report and then prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if you are considering a higher-mileage or modified example. Pay close attention to body condition, signs of prior repair, and whether the car’s equipment matches the listing description.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The LT1 looks like a basic Camaro LT, but it carries Camaro SS go-fast hardware underneath its clean exterior. The base setup is intentionally understated, while higher versions add more equipment and visual distinction.
• Powertrain: The LT1 uses a 6.2-liter V8 with 455 hp and 455 pound-feet of torque. It also benefits from a limited-slip rear differential, 4-piston Brembo front brakes, a performance-tuned suspension, and 20-inch wheels.
• Safety package: Standard equipment includes stability control, a reversing camera, and Teen Driver. Available safety tech includes OnStar connected services with automatic collision notification and SOS emergency calling, plus blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert, rear parking sensors, and forward-collision warning on other versions.
• Infotainment: The standard setup includes a 7-inch touchscreen, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, OnStar connected services with a 4G LTE WiFi hotspot, and a 6-speaker Bose sound system. An 8-inch display, additional speakers, connected navigation, and remote engine start with the automatic transmission are available.
• Fuel efficiency: Official EPA ratings are 16 mpg city, 27 highway, and 20 combined. The test loop returned 18.6 mpg in city and suburban driving and 20 mpg overall.

Which 2020 Chevrolet Camaro trim should I buy?

The 2020 Chevrolet Camaro is offered in 6 trim levels: 1LT, 2LT, 3LT, LT1, SS, ZL1.

Here's the short version:

• 1LT: This is the entry point if you want the Camaro experience at the lowest price, but it is also the trim where you give up the most equipment. It makes sense if you want the shape and driving feel first and foremost.
• 2LT: This is the better-value choice for shoppers who want more comfort and convenience without jumping too far up the price ladder. It adds equipment that makes the Camaro easier to live with day to day.
• 3LT: Choose this if you want the most feature-rich non-performance-focused Camaro before moving into the more serious hardware of the LT1 and above. It suits buyers who want a nicer cabin and more available equipment.
• LT1: This is the best-value trim for performance shoppers because it delivers the 6.2-liter V8 and Camaro SS hardware at a lower price than the SS. It is the one to buy if you want the sleeper look and serious speed without paying for the full SS badge.
• SS: Step up here if you want the more obvious performance identity and the additional hardware that comes with it. It is the right choice if you want the Camaro to feel more complete as a high-performance car.
• ZL1: This is the top performance trim for buyers who want the most extreme Camaro experience. It is the one to consider if outright performance matters more than price or everyday comfort.

No Camaro is available with adaptive cruise control, automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assist, or high-beam headlights.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2020 Chevrolet Camaro?

The market looks selective rather than overheated, which gives you room to shop carefully and compare listings.

• Deal availability: 30.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 1,002 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 5.82% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 63.5% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $24,741, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2020 Chevrolet Camaro's resale value?

The current average of $25,801 sits slightly below last year's $27,395.

That softer pricing suggests the Camaro has become more accessible to used buyers, which can help demand from shoppers looking for performance value. For a future seller, that means resale performance will likely depend heavily on condition, mileage, and how well the car has been maintained.

Because this model year still has strong enthusiast appeal, a clean example with desirable equipment should remain easier to move than a neglected one. The price drop also creates a lower entry point today, which can help support future buyer interest if the car stays in good shape.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.6/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2020 Chevrolet Camaro safe?

The Camaro coupe earns an overall five-star rating from NHTSA, with four-star ratings for frontal-impact protection for both driver and passenger. The IIHS gives it top marks in frontal- and side-impact testing, though roof crush strength is rated Acceptable rather than Good.

It earns a 6/10 safety score from our experts.

The standard safety setup is limited to stability control, a reversing camera, and Teen Driver. Available features on other versions include OnStar connected services with automatic collision notification and SOS emergency calling, plus rear parking sensors, a rear camera mirror, and forward-collision warning.

A key caveat is that no Camaro is available with adaptive cruise control, automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assist, or high-beam headlights. That makes the Camaro a stronger choice for drivers who prioritize performance over advanced driver assistance.

Should I buy a 2020 Chevrolet Camaro or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2020 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2020 if:

• 30.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 63.5% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 5.82% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.6/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The LT1 sleeper formula gives you Camaro SS hardware at a lower price than the SS.

Consider the 2021 if:

• At $34,094, the 2021 costs more than the current year's $25,801 average.
• It continues the Camaro formula with strong power, handling, and style.

The bottom line: If you want the best mix of price and performance, the 2020 is the smarter buy because it delivers strong enthusiast appeal at a lower average cost. If you are willing to spend more for a newer model year, the 2021 is the better path, but price-sensitive buyers should focus on the 2020 and shop for a clean, well-kept example.
