Used 2020 Cadillac CT5 for Sale nearToledo, OH

How much does the 2020 Cadillac CT5 cost?

Prices have softened 5.23% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 402 listings available, which gives you a solid amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2020 Cadillac CT5 a good car?

Yes — the 2020 Cadillac CT5 earns a 4.8/5 user rating and an 8.2/10 expert rating. The model scores 9/10 across Look and feel and Technology.

Owners consistently praise its stylish look, smooth driving experience, and comfortable interior. The design also stands out, and the customizable features earn strong marks from shoppers.

The main trade-offs are the underwhelming base engine and the irritating transmission, which can make the car less appealing if you want effortless performance. Even so, the CT5’s approachable premium feel and easy-to-use technology make it a strong fit if you want a distinctive luxury sedan rather than an SUV.

The market also looks reasonably supportive, with 31.6% of listings marked as good or great deals.

Is the 2020 Cadillac CT5 reliable?

Owners rate it 4.8/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

User feedback points to a dependable, trouble-free ownership experience for many drivers, with praise for the car’s smooth driving character and comfortable cabin. The expert review also describes the CT5 as mostly competent and confidence inspiring, which supports the case for day-to-day dependability.

The powertrain is described as competent in normal use, and the car’s real-world ride quality is a strength on rough pavement. For used buyers, the main long-term risk is less about outright durability and more about choosing the right configuration, since the base engine and transmission behavior can leave you wanting more.

What should I look for when buying a used 2020 Cadillac CT5?

At 68.4% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report and then prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if the car has had bodywork or shows signs of uneven panel fit, paint mismatch, or interior wear. It’s also worth focusing on how the transmission behaves on a test drive, since that’s one of the CT5’s most notable drawbacks.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The Luxury trim is the entry point, but it misses the stronger safety-technology setup that appears higher up the range. Premium Luxury and V-Series are the trims the review team recommends, and the Premium Luxury Platinum version adds a more exclusive cabin treatment.
• Powertrain: The base turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder is described as unrefined and underpowered, while the twin-turbo 3.0-liter V6 is the more satisfying choice. The V6 also pairs with a 10-speed automatic and can deliver strong acceleration.
• Safety package: Cadillac’s hands-free Level 2 driver-assistance system is part of the CT5’s safety-technology story, but you need to move beyond Luxury trim to access it. The car also offers adaptive cruise control, lane-keeping assistance, and a driver’s seat warning system.
• Infotainment: The CT5 uses a 10.0-inch high-definition touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, plus wireless smartphone pairing through Near Field Communication. Navigation and a 15-speaker Bose system are optional, and the interface is praised for being clean and intuitive.
• Fuel efficiency: The V6 test car is EPA rated at 21 mpg combined, and the review notes 20.1 mpg in testing.

Which 2020 Cadillac CT5 trim should I buy?

The 2020 Cadillac CT5 is offered in 4 trim levels: Luxury, Sport, Premium Luxury, and V-Series.

Here's the short version:

• Luxury: This is the cheapest way into the CT5, but it comes with the base turbo four that the review team says you should skip. It makes the most sense only if your priority is the lowest entry price.
• Sport: This trim adds a more aggressive appearance, but it still uses the same base engine, so it doesn’t solve the CT5’s biggest weakness. It’s best for shoppers who care more about styling than power.
• Premium Luxury: This is the best-value trim because it unlocks the recommended twin-turbo V6 and brings the CT5 closer to the car Cadillac intended it to be. If you want the strongest balance of comfort, performance, and value, this is the trim to target.
• V-Series: This is the most performance-focused version in the lineup, with the V6 standard. It suits you if you want the strongest factory performance and are willing to pay more for it.

The safety-technology suite is not available on the Luxury trim, so if that matters to you, shop higher in the range.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2020 Cadillac CT5?

This is a moderate market for selective buyers, with enough inventory and pricing movement to reward careful shopping.

• Deal availability: 31.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 402 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 5.23% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 68.4% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $25,377, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2020 Cadillac CT5's resale value?

The current average of $25,464 sits slightly below last year's $26,869.

That downward move suggests the CT5 has become more affordable for used buyers, which can help you if you’re shopping now but may limit upside if you plan to resell soon. The current pricing trend also implies that future sellers may need to stay competitive, especially if similar cars continue to soften.

Strong owner satisfaction can help support demand, though, and that matters when you eventually list the car. Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.8/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2020 Cadillac CT5 safe?

The Cadillac CT5 earns five-star ratings across the board from NHTSA, including rollover resistance.

It earns an 8/10 safety score from our experts.

Cadillac’s safety-technology package includes adaptive cruise control, lane-keeping assistance, and a driver’s seat warning system, and the review notes that the system worked without false warnings in testing. The CT5 also offers a rearview-camera mirror, surround-view camera system, parking assist with automatic emergency braking, and a surround-view video recorder.

One important caveat is that Super Cruise is not available on the 2020 CT5. Also, the strongest safety-technology setup requires you to move beyond the Luxury trim.

Should I buy a 2020 Cadillac CT5 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2020 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2020 if:

• 31.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 68.4% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 5.23% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.8/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• Expert or safety highlight specific to this year from the review team: the CT5 brings easy-to-use technology and a stylish design, while also earning five-star NHTSA ratings across the board.

The bottom line: The 2020 CT5 makes sense if you want a stylish, tech-friendly luxury sedan and you’re willing to shop carefully for the right trim and condition. If you’re especially price-sensitive, the current market gives you room to find a deal, but you should still prioritize a higher trim with the V6 and a clean history.
