Is the 2020 BMW X6 a good car?

Yes — 4.5/5 is a strong user rating for this model year. The 2020 BMW X6 stands out because it leans hard into style and performance rather than practicality, so you get a coupe-like crossover shape, a more aggressive look, and a luxury-first feel. It also brings strong power and hardware, including an eight-speed automatic, adaptive dampers, standard 20-inch wheels, and available four-corner air suspension on all-wheel-drive models. If you want a distinctive luxury SUV that prioritizes presence and driving character over maximum utility, this fits that use case well.

32.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which gives you some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2020 BMW X6 reliable?

Owners rate it 4.5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The 2020 BMW X6 is presented as a well-equipped luxury performance SUV with substantial hardware and upscale features, which supports confidence in day-to-day ownership. Its strong powertrain lineup and premium equipment suggest a vehicle built to deliver a high-end experience over time. For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is that a style-first luxury SUV can bring higher upkeep expectations than a more conventional crossover.

What should I look for when buying a used 2020 BMW X6?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 75.2% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should start with a history report to confirm accident status and check for any signs of prior damage or repeated repairs. After that, prioritize a thorough inspection of the body, wheels, suspension, and interior condition, since this model’s premium equipment and performance focus make condition especially important. Pay close attention to how well the vehicle has been maintained, because a luxury SUV like this can be more sensitive to deferred upkeep.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2020 BMW X6?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer's market, so you can shop carefully and still find worthwhile listings.

• Deal availability: 32.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 298 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 10.91% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 75.2% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $38,488, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2020 BMW X6's resale value?

The current average of $38,675 sits slightly below last year's $43,409.

That price movement suggests the market has cooled, which can help you buy more favorably now but may also mean future resale gains are less likely to be driven by appreciation. For a seller, the current trend points to a vehicle that still has demand, but not the kind of momentum that would support a premium over recent pricing. If you keep the vehicle in strong condition and maintain it well, you should be better positioned when it comes time to sell.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2020 BMW X6 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2020 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2020 if:

• 32.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 75.2% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 10.91% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: If you want the X6’s style-first design, strong performance, and upscale equipment, the 2020 is a compelling choice. If your priority is stretching your budget, a different year may give you a lower entry price, but the 2020 stands out as the better pick when you want a balanced mix of market availability, buyer interest, and premium appeal.
