Used 2019 Volkswagen Atlas for Sale nearLos Angeles, CA

How much does the 2019 Volkswagen Atlas cost?

Prices have softened 11.67% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 1,524 listings available, which gives you a solid pool of options to compare.

Is the 2019 Volkswagen Atlas a good car?

Yes — the 4.5/5 user rating points to strong owner satisfaction, and the Atlas’s appeal is easy to see if you want a three-row midsize SUV that prioritizes space and practicality. Its roomy second and third rows, straightforward cabin layout, and premium feel make it especially appealing for family use, while standard Apple CarPlay and Android Auto help it fit daily life more easily. The available Digital Cockpit and 4Motion all-wheel drive add extra appeal if you want a more modern presentation or more traction. 37.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which gives you a decent chance to find a competitive offer.

Is the 2019 Volkswagen Atlas reliable?

Owners rate it 4.5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The Atlas’s reliability picture is mixed: it offers a simple, family-friendly layout and a well-rounded equipment mix, but early 2018 and 2019 models had reported issues with transmissions, electrical systems, and premature wear on some components. That means you should treat condition and maintenance history as especially important when shopping used. For long-term ownership, the main risk is buying a neglected example that could bring higher repair and upkeep costs than you expect.

What should I look for when buying a used 2019 Volkswagen Atlas?

At 68.8% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report and confirm whether any prior damage was repaired properly. Then prioritize a thorough pre-purchase inspection, with extra attention to transmission behavior, electrical operation, and signs of uneven wear. Because this model’s strengths are space and comfort, make sure the cabin, seats, and family-use features are in good condition too.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2019 Volkswagen Atlas?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully without expecting every listing to be a bargain.

• Deal availability: 37.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 1,524 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 11.67% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 68.8% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $16,881, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2019 Volkswagen Atlas's resale value?

The current average of $16,881 sits slightly below last year's $19,113.

That price movement suggests the Atlas has softened in the used market, which can help you buy at a more favorable entry point today. For future resale, the key question is how well the vehicle is maintained, since condition will matter more when the market is already trending lower. If you keep mileage reasonable and service records organized, you can help protect value even in a softer pricing environment.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2019 Volkswagen Atlas or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2019 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2019 if:

• 37.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 68.8% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 11.67% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2018 if:

• At $14,136, the 2018 costs less than the current year's $16,881 average.
• It emphasizes spaciousness and everyday usefulness for families.

The bottom line: If you want the better-balanced choice, the 2019 is the stronger pick because it combines a lower current price than last year, solid owner satisfaction, and a broad set of family-friendly features. If your top priority is spending less upfront, the 2018 is the more price-sensitive alternative and may be worth a look if you find a clean, well-maintained example.
