Used 2019 Toyota Camry for Sale nearDes Moines, IA

How much does the 2019 Toyota Camry cost?

Prices have softened 2.98% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 3,211 listings available, which gives you a solid amount of inventory to compare before you buy.

Is the 2019 Toyota Camry a good car?

Yes — the 2019 Toyota Camry earns a 4.8/5 user rating and a 7.8/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Safety at 10/10.

Drivers consistently praise its reliability, comfortable ride, and fuel efficiency, and they also like the smooth handling and stylish design. The expert review reinforces that appeal with strong safety, a free scheduled maintenance plan, and a 6-cylinder option for shoppers who want more power.

The trade-offs are worth keeping in mind: the cabin is smaller than some rivals, the interior materials feel cheap, and the car offers fewer expected features than some competitors. For you, that means the Camry makes the most sense if you value safety, value, and everyday drivability more than maximum space or a plush cabin.

31.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which suggests there are still worthwhile opportunities in the market.

Is the 2019 Toyota Camry reliable?

Owners rate it 4.8/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

User feedback points to reliability, trouble-free ownership, and a car you can count on for daily driving. The expert review also emphasizes a trouble-free ownership experience and a free maintenance plan, which strengthens the case for long-term dependability.

That said, used-car reliability still depends on how the previous owner maintained the car, so you should verify service history and inspect wear items carefully before you commit.

What should I look for when buying a used 2019 Toyota Camry?

At 50% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report and confirm whether any prior damage was repaired properly. Then prioritize a pre-purchase inspection so you can check for uneven panel gaps, tire wear, suspension issues, and signs of poor repair quality. Because the Camry’s appeal depends heavily on condition, you’ll want to focus on how well the cabin, exterior, and mechanicals have held up.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The Camry is offered in 5 trim levels: L, LE, XLE, SE, and XSE. The review points you toward LE as the minimum sensible choice for value, while XLE is described as the upscale pick. Lower trims can miss some of the features shoppers increasingly expect, so you should compare equipment carefully before settling on the cheapest example.
• Powertrain: You can choose between a standard 2.5-liter 4-cylinder engine and an available 301-hp 3.5-liter V6. The 4-cylinder is the practical daily-driving choice, while the V6 adds the strongest performance and a more entertaining feel.
• Safety package: Every 2019 Camry includes Toyota Safety Sense with adaptive cruise control, forward-collision warning with pedestrian detection, automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assist, and automatic high-beam headlights. Lower trim levels can have headlight-performance differences, so check the exact equipment on the car you’re considering.
• Infotainment: The Camry uses Entune 3.0 with Apple CarPlay, a Qi-compatible wireless charging pad, and a 10-inch head-up display. Android Auto is not included.
• Fuel efficiency: The expert review cites 26 mpg in combined driving for the V6 test car, and the hybrid is described as adding up to 20 mpg to the car’s fuel economy.

Which 2019 Toyota Camry trim should I buy?

The 2019 Toyota Camry is offered in 5 trim levels: L, LE, XLE, SE, and XSE.

Here's the short version:

• L: This is the entry point, but the review makes clear that you should move up if you want a better value balance of equipment and everyday livability.
• LE: This is the best-value trim. The review specifically recommends the standard 2.5-liter 4-cylinder engine with LE trim at a minimum, making it the smart starting point for most buyers.
• XLE: This is the upscale choice if you want a more premium-feeling Camry without chasing the sportiest setup.
• SE: This trim leans into the sportier side of the Camry’s personality and suits you if styling matters more than pure value.
• XSE: This is the most expressive trim and the one tied to the V6 test car, so it fits you best if you want the strongest performance and the boldest look.

Toyota Safety Sense is standard across the lineup, but lower trim levels can have less favorable headlight performance, so check the exact lighting setup before you buy.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2019 Toyota Camry?

This is a moderate market for selective buyers, with enough inventory and deal activity to reward careful shopping.

• Deal availability: 31.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 3,211 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 2.98% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 50.0% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $17,991, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2019 Toyota Camry's resale value?

The current average of $18,594 sits slightly below last year's $19,164.

That softer pricing suggests the Camry has become a bit more buyer-friendly in the used market, which can help you if you’re shopping now. For a future seller, the current trend means you should expect a more competitive resale environment than last year, especially if your car has average mileage or visible wear.

Even so, the Camry’s broad appeal and strong reputation should help it remain easy to market when you decide to sell. Well-kept examples with clean history and desirable equipment should hold up better than rougher, higher-mileage cars.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.8/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2019 Toyota Camry safe?

The 2019 Toyota Camry earns five-star ratings in every single NHTSA assessment, including the rollover resistance test, and it also earns a Top Safety Pick+ rating from IIHS.

It earns a 10/10 safety score from our experts.

Toyota Safety Sense is standard and includes adaptive cruise control, forward-collision warning with pedestrian detection, automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assist, and automatic high-beam headlights. The system is described as refined and accurate, though the lane-departure warning can become annoying enough that some drivers may switch it off.

One caveat is that lower trim levels have standard headlights rated Acceptable instead of Good by IIHS, so you should pay attention to the lighting setup on the specific car you’re considering.

Should I buy a 2019 Toyota Camry or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2019 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2019 if:

• 31.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 50% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 2.98% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.8/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• It combines strong safety with a free scheduled maintenance plan and a 6-cylinder option.

Consider the 2018 if:

• At $17,585, the 2018 costs less than the current year's $18,594 average.
• It emphasizes dependable daily transportation with sporty styling.

Consider the 2020 if:

• At $19,931, the 2020 costs more than the current year's $18,594 average.
• It adds all-wheel drive and a sportier TRD version.

The bottom line: If you want the best mix of safety, value, and broad availability, the 2019 is the strongest all-around pick. If your budget is tighter, the 2018 is the better price-first alternative, while the 2020 makes sense if you want the newer features and can pay more.
