How much does the 2019 Subaru WRX cost?

Is the 2019 Subaru WRX a good car?

Generally — the 2019 Subaru WRX earns a 4.33/5 user rating, which points to strong owner satisfaction. It stands out as a practical sports sedan with rally roots, standard all-wheel drive, and a turbocharged Boxer engine, so you get performance with year-round usability. It also offers a six-speed manual and an available CVT, giving you a choice between a more engaging drive and added convenience. The tradeoffs are familiar: outdated technology, a cramped back seat in older models, and poor fuel economy. With 31.7% of listings marked as good or great deals, the market still offers some attractive opportunities.

Is the 2019 Subaru WRX reliable?

Owners rate it 4.33/5, a solid signal of long-term satisfaction.

The 2019 WRX’s appeal comes from its standard all-wheel drive, turbocharged powertrain, and everyday practicality, which can make it a dependable fit if you want a performance sedan that handles varied weather. Its drawbacks are more about livability and efficiency than outright capability, with outdated technology and poor fuel economy still part of the picture. For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is ending up with a car that has been driven hard without the maintenance history to match.

What should I look for when buying a used 2019 Subaru WRX?

At 58.6% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report and confirm whether any prior damage was repaired properly. Put inspection priority on body condition, panel alignment, and signs of wear that could hint at harder use. Because this model is often bought for performance, you should also focus on how the car was maintained and whether the condition matches the mileage and asking price.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2019 Subaru WRX?

This looks like a moderate market, so you can be selective without expecting deep bargain-bin pricing.

• Deal availability: 31.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 672 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 5.48% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 58.6% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $19,018, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2019 Subaru WRX's resale value?

The current average of $19,078 sits slightly below last year's $20,183.

That price movement suggests the WRX has softened enough to help you buy more carefully, but it also means future resale gains may be limited if the market stays soft. If you buy well and keep the car in strong condition, you can help protect value when it comes time to sell. Demand should remain supported by the WRX’s performance image and practical all-wheel-drive setup.

Vehicles with solid owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.33/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2019 Subaru WRX or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2019 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2019 if:

• 31.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 58.6% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 5.48% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.33/5 — a solid satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2020 if:

• At $21,519, the 2020 costs more than the current year's $19,078 average.
• It emphasizes Subaru’s rally heritage and adds a broader daily-driver performance focus.

The bottom line: If you want the better value play, the 2019 is the stronger starting point because it combines a lower average price with solid owner satisfaction and decent deal availability. If you’re willing to spend more for the next model year’s broader performance-oriented appeal, the 2020 is the secondary path to consider.
