How much does the 2019 Subaru Outback cost?

Prices have softened 6.82% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 2,722 listings available, which gives you a solid amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2019 Subaru Outback a good car?

Yes — 4.96/5 is a strong user rating, and the feedback points to a smooth ride, ample safety features, and a roomy interior. Drivers also commonly praise its all-weather capability and practical usefulness, especially if you want a family-friendly vehicle with space and a comfortable cabin. For shoppers who value everyday versatility over flash, that combination makes it a strong fit, and 35.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.

Is the 2019 Subaru Outback reliable?

Owners rate it 4.96/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The user feedback highlights a dependable ownership experience, with drivers repeatedly pointing to its smooth ride, safety, and usefulness in challenging climates. That said, some owners mention oil maintenance between changes, so you should pay close attention to service records and overall upkeep on any used example. For used buyers, the main long-term risk is less about the concept and more about how well the specific vehicle has been maintained.

What should I look for when buying a used 2019 Subaru Outback?

At 72.6% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should run a vehicle history report before you commit, then prioritize a pre-purchase inspection on any listing that looks especially clean or unusually well priced. Focus on exterior condition, maintenance records, and signs of wear that could hint at harder use or incomplete upkeep. If a seller cannot clearly document service history, treat that as a reason to slow down and inspect more carefully.

This is a moderate market for selective buyers, with enough inventory to shop carefully and enough deal activity to reward patience.

• Deal availability: 35.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 2,722 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 6.82% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 72.6% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $17,554, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2019 Subaru Outback's resale value?

The current average of $17,701 sits slightly below last year's $18,996.

That softer pricing suggests the market has become a bit more favorable for buyers, but it also means future sellers may need to price competitively to stand out. If you buy well now, you may have a better chance of limiting depreciation pressure later. Strong demand for practical, safety-focused vehicles can help support resale, especially when the car has been well maintained and presents cleanly.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.96/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2019 Subaru Outback or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2019 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2019 if:

• 35.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 72.6% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 6.82% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.96/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2018 if:

• At $15,806, the 2018 costs less than the current year's $17,701 average.
• It emphasizes straightforward practicality and versatility.

Consider the 2020 if:

• At $20,672, the 2020 costs more than the current year's $17,701 average.
• It adds a more modern cabin and updated tech.

The bottom line: If you want the best balance of price, satisfaction, and market availability, the 2019 is the primary year to target. If your budget is tighter, the 2018 is the better value play; if you want newer-feeling tech and can spend more, the 2020 is the upgrade path.
