Is the 2019 RAM 3500 a good car?

Generally — the 4.43/5 user rating points to strong owner satisfaction. Owners consistently praise its power, luxury features, comfort, capability, and long-distance usefulness, and the truck’s upscale cabin and heavy-duty strength make it appealing if you want a work-capable truck that also feels refined. The 2019 RAM 3500 is especially relevant if you value towing, hauling, and a more premium interior in a heavy-duty package. Is the 2019 RAM 3500 reliable?

Owners rate it 4.43/5, a solid signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback points to a truck that many drivers find dependable for power, comfort, and heavy-duty use, with repeated praise for its capability and long-distance confidence. At the same time, some owners mention mechanical concerns, so you should treat reliability as something to verify carefully on each individual truck rather than assume across the board. For used buyers, that means the long-term ownership risk is manageable if you focus on maintenance history and condition.

What should I look for when buying a used 2019 RAM 3500?

At 68.2% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report so you can separate clean trucks from those with accident records or other red flags. After that, prioritize a thorough pre-purchase inspection, especially if the truck has been used for towing or heavy work. Focus on overall condition, signs of wear, and whether the truck’s equipment and mechanical systems match the seller’s description.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2019 RAM 3500?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop with some leverage if you’re patient and compare listings carefully.

• Deal availability: 28.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 881 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 7.98% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 68.2% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $42,752, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2019 RAM 3500's resale value?

The current average of $42,808 sits slightly below last year's $46,521.

That price movement suggests the market has cooled, which can help you buy more affordably now but may also limit short-term upside if you plan to resell soon. If you’re a future seller, the softer pricing means condition, mileage, and documentation matter even more because buyers will have plenty of comparable listings to choose from. Trucks that present well and show strong ownership history should still hold attention better than neglected examples.

Vehicles with solid owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.43/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2019 RAM 3500 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2019 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2019 if:

• 28.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 68.2% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 7.98% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.43/5 — a solid satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: You should lean toward the 2019 if you want the stronger mix of value, owner satisfaction, and modern heavy-duty capability, especially now that prices have eased. If you’re more price-sensitive, a nearby year may still make sense, but the 2019 is the better pick when you want a more refined truck with broad appeal and enough market inventory to shop carefully.
