Is the 2019 Nissan Sentra a good car?

Yes — the 2019 Nissan Sentra earns a 4.57/5 user rating, which points to strong owner approval. Owners repeatedly praise its value, comfort, smooth driving experience, technology features, and fuel economy. That makes it a sensible fit if you want an affordable compact sedan for commuting and routine errands rather than a performance-focused car. With 29.8% of listings marked as good or great deals, you have some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2019 Nissan Sentra reliable?

Owners rate it 4.57/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback also points to a dependable, trouble-free ownership experience centered on value, comfort, and fuel economy. That kind of feedback suggests you can count on it as a practical daily driver if you choose a well-kept example. For used buyers, the main long-term risk is less about the model’s appeal and more about finding one with clean history and consistent maintenance.

What should I look for when buying a used 2019 Nissan Sentra?

At 57.9% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report and confirm whether any prior damage was repaired properly. Put inspection priority on body condition, panel alignment, and signs of past collision work, then verify that the car drives smoothly and that comfort-related features work as expected. Because this model is valued for everyday usability, condition matters a lot when you’re comparing similar-priced listings.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2019 Nissan Sentra?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully and still find value.

• Deal availability: 29.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 1,555 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 7.36% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 57.9% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $10,035, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2019 Nissan Sentra's resale value?

The current average of $10,089 sits slightly below last year's $10,891.

That softer pricing can help you buy more carefully now, but it also suggests resale upside may be modest if the market stays soft. If you plan to sell later, condition and documentation will matter more because buyers will have plenty of comparable listings to choose from. A clean history and strong maintenance record should help your car stand out when it’s time to trade or sell.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.57/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2019 Nissan Sentra or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2019 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2019 if:

• 29.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 57.9% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 7.36% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.57/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2020 if:

• At $14,526, the 2020 costs more than the current year's $10,089 average.
• It brings a more upscale design with major technology and driving-dynamics upgrades.

The bottom line: If your priority is value, the 2019 is the better starting point because it combines a lower average price with solid owner satisfaction. If you want a newer-feeling Sentra and can stretch your budget, the 2020 is the stronger upgrade path. For price-sensitive buyers, the 2019 makes the most sense; for shoppers who want a more modern cabin and design, the 2020 is worth the extra spend.
