Used 2019 Nissan Altima for Sale nearLos Angeles, CA

How much does the 2019 Nissan Altima cost?

Prices have softened 9.94% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 2,333 listings available, which suggests solid inventory for comparison shopping.

Is the 2019 Nissan Altima a good car?

Yes — 4.88/5 owners rate it highly, and the expert rating is 7.83/10. The standout strength is Safety at 10/10.

Owners consistently praise the smooth drive, advanced tech features, stylish design, comfortable seating, and responsive handling. Those themes line up well with the Altima’s role as a comfortable, tech-friendly midsize sedan with a more upscale cabin.

The trade-offs are clear: performance is fairly pedestrian, and the design may not appeal to everyone. If you want a polished daily driver rather than a sporty sedan, the Altima fits that use case well.

Good and great deals account for 28.3% of listings, so there’s still room to find a competitive offer.

Is the 2019 Nissan Altima reliable?

Owners rate it 4.88/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback points to a dependable, trouble-free ownership experience, with praise centered on smooth driving and comfort that hold up over time. The expert test-drive notes also frame it as a practical commuter with strong everyday usability and a well-rounded feature set.

It also benefits from easy-to-use technology and a straightforward cabin layout, which can make long-term ownership less frustrating. For used buyers, the main risk is less about a single glaring flaw and more about making sure the specific car you choose has been maintained well.

What should I look for when buying a used 2019 Nissan Altima?

At 55.6% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report and then prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if the car has been in any collision. Focus on body condition, panel alignment, tire wear, and signs that the car was repaired well after damage.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The S comes with Zero Gravity seats, push-button start, an 8-way power driver’s seat, four USB ports, satellite radio, and an 8-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Higher trims add features like 19-inch wheels, LED headlights, heated seats, leather seating, Bose audio, navigation, and a surround-view monitor, so the base trim is the most stripped-down version.
• Powertrain: The standard 2.5-liter 4-cylinder makes 188 horsepower and 180 pound-feet of torque, while the turbocharged 2.0-liter 4-cylinder is available on SR and Platinum trims. Both pair with a CVT, and the 2.5-liter can be had with front-wheel drive or available all-wheel drive.
• Safety package: ProPilot Assist is standard on SV, SL, and Platinum trims, while forward-collision warning and driver-alertness monitoring are standard on every Altima. The base trim does not get ProPilot Assist.
• Infotainment: Every Altima gets an 8-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, plus a 7-inch color Drive Assist display. The system is designed to be straightforward and easy to use.
• Fuel efficiency: The 2.5-liter engine returns 28 city, 39 highway, and 32 combined mpg, while AWD drops that to 25, 35, and 29. The turbocharged 2.0-liter is expected to return 25 city, 34 highway, and 29 combined mpg.

Which 2019 Nissan Altima trim should I buy?

The 2019 Nissan Altima is offered in 5 trim levels: S, SR, SV, SL, Platinum.

Here's the short version:

• S: This is the value play if you want the essentials, including the 8-inch touchscreen, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and the comfortable Zero Gravity seats. It gives you the core Altima experience at the lowest entry point.
• SR: This trim adds a sportier look with 19-inch wheels, LED headlights, a rear spoiler, and a leather-wrapped steering wheel. It also opens the door to the turbocharged 2.0-liter engine, so it suits you if you want more style and a stronger feature set.
• SV: This is the best-value trim for most shoppers because it adds heated seats, a heated steering wheel, power lumbar adjustment, a moonroof, automatic climate control, and ProPilot Assist. It strikes the strongest balance of comfort, convenience, and safety equipment.
• SL: If you want a more upscale feel, the SL adds leather seating, a 4-way power front-passenger seat, Bose premium audio, and navigation with live traffic updates. It’s the right pick if you want a near-luxury vibe without going all the way to the top trim.
• Platinum: This is the most fully equipped Altima, with 19-inch wheels, memory settings for the driver’s seat, a 360-degree surround-view monitor, and interior accent lighting. Choose it if you want the most features and the most polished cabin experience.

ProPilot Assist is standard on the SV, SL, and Platinum trims.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2019 Nissan Altima?

This is a moderate market for selective buyers, so you can shop patiently but still move quickly on the right car.

• Deal availability: 28.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 2,333 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 9.94% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 55.6% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $13,682, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2019 Nissan Altima's resale value?

The current average of $13,682 sits slightly below last year's $15,192.

That decline suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can help you buy at a more favorable entry point. For a future seller, it also means you should expect resale value to depend heavily on condition, mileage, and trim choice rather than broad market momentum alone.

Because the price range has softened, a well-kept example may hold up better than a neglected one when it’s time to sell. Strong equipment and clean history should matter more to the next buyer than a small difference in age alone.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.88/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2019 Nissan Altima safe?

The 2019 Nissan Altima earns a 10/10 safety score from our experts.

Standard safety features include front- and side-impact airbags, traction control, vehicle dynamics control, and a reversing camera. ProPilot Assist is standard on the SV, SL, and Platinum trims, and it adds lane-centering support and adaptive cruise-style speed matching. Forward-collision warning and driver-alertness monitoring are standard on every Altima.

That makes the Altima a strong safety pick overall, especially if you choose a trim with ProPilot Assist. The main trim-level gap is that the base S misses out on that more advanced driver-assistance suite.

Should I buy a 2019 Nissan Altima or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2019 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2019 if:

• 28.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 55.6% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 9.94% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.88/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The 2019 is all-new and brings a major step forward in interior quality and technology.

Consider the 2020 if:

• At $14,377, the 2020 costs more than the current year's $13,682 average.
• Nissan Safety Shield 360 becomes more widely available.

The bottom line: Choose the 2019 if you want the lower price and the big redesign benefits without paying more for the next model year. If you’re willing to spend extra for broader safety availability, the 2020 is the better secondary path.
