How much does the 2019 Mercedes-Benz S-Class cost?

Prices have softened 12.65% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 568 listings available, which suggests you have a solid amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2019 Mercedes-Benz S-Class a good car?

Yes — the 2019 Mercedes-Benz S-Class earns a 4.8/5 user rating, which points to strong owner satisfaction. Owners consistently praise its luxurious feel, advanced technology, strong performance, craftsmanship, spacious interior, and safety features. That lines up well if you want a full-size luxury sedan that feels special and refined, though it still carries the cost and ownership expectations of a flagship model. With 31.2% of listings marked as good or great deals, there is some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2019 Mercedes-Benz S-Class reliable?

Owners rate it 4.8/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

Owner feedback also emphasizes that the car feels dependable, trouble-free, and well-built over time, with many buyers valuing the craftsmanship and engineering behind it. For used-car shoppers, that kind of satisfaction can reduce some ownership anxiety, but you should still budget carefully because a luxury flagship can bring higher long-term maintenance risk than a mainstream sedan.

What should I look for when buying a used 2019 Mercedes-Benz S-Class?

At 68.7% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should run a vehicle history report on every candidate and prioritize listings with clean records and consistent service documentation. A pre-purchase inspection is especially important on a car like this, since you want to confirm the condition of the electronics, interior features, and overall mechanical health. Focus on signs of wear that could be expensive to correct, because a luxury sedan can hide costly issues behind a polished presentation.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2019 Mercedes-Benz S-Class?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently and still find worthwhile options.

• Deal availability: 31.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 568 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 12.65% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 68.7% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $39,058, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2019 Mercedes-Benz S-Class's resale value?

The current average of $39,507 sits slightly below last year's $45,230.

That price movement suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can help you buy more favorably now but may also limit upside if you plan to resell soon. For a future seller, the key question is whether the car’s condition, mileage, and service history can help it stand out in a market where prices have softened. Strong presentation and documentation matter more when the broader trend is moving lower.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.8/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2019 Mercedes-Benz S-Class or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2019 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2019 if:

• 31.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 68.7% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 12.65% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.8/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: The 2019 is a strong choice if you want a well-developed S-Class with solid owner satisfaction and a softer price than a year ago. If you’re more price-sensitive, a nearby year may be worth comparing, but the 2019 stands out as the better path when you want the balance of value, inventory, and owner approval.
