Used 2019 MINI Cooper for Sale nearFayetteville, NC

How much does the 2019 MINI Cooper cost?

Prices have softened 5.22% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 418 listings available, which gives you a modest amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2019 MINI Cooper a good car?

Yes — with a 4.56/5 user rating and a 6.33/10 expert rating, it lands in the range where personality matters as much as practicality. The model scores 7/10 across Look and feel and Form and function.

Owners consistently praise the fun driving experience, sporty performance, stylish design, and unique personality. The overview also frames it as a car for you if you want something stylish and fun rather than purely practical, with the go-kart-like feel as a core part of the appeal.

The trade-offs are clear: advanced safety features are not standard, the technology can be unintuitive, and value for money is weak. Even so, the market still shows 41.6% good or great deals, so you may find a compelling example if you shop carefully.

Is the 2019 MINI Cooper reliable?

Owners rate it 4.56/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner summary points to a car that feels fun, distinctive, and satisfying to live with over time, while also suggesting that many buyers appreciate its sporty character enough to stick with it. The expert notes also describe it as a car for people who value personality and want something they can tailor to their preferences, which supports the idea that it can be a dependable fit for the right owner.

The expert test-drive notes also emphasize that this MINI is built around a strong identity and a focused driving experience, which can make it feel like a car you can count on if you value consistency in character. For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is that its quirks, complexity, and limited practicality may wear on you if you expect everyday ease.

What should I look for when buying a used 2019 MINI Cooper?

At 67.2% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle-history report and then prioritize a thorough pre-purchase inspection, especially if the car has been modified, heavily optioned, or driven hard. Focus on condition details that matter most in a small, personality-first car: signs of prior damage, wheel and tire wear, and whether the technology and safety equipment work as expected.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The Cooper is described as growing more technologically sophisticated, but also as adding complexity; the base-focused Classic setup is presented as the cleaner, simpler choice, while the John Cooper Works version is the performance-oriented standout.
• Powertrain: The John Cooper Works version uses a turbocharged 2.0-liter 4-cylinder with 228 horsepower and 236 pound-feet of torque, and it can reach 60 mph in 5.9 seconds with the automatic or 6.1 seconds with the manual.
• Safety package: Active Driving Assistant includes forward-collision warning, automatic emergency braking, automatic high-beam headlights, and a speed-limit information system. Adaptive cruise control is available with the Driver Assistance Package, which also adds Parking Assistant and front parking sensors. Blind-spot monitoring, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assist, and lane-centering assist are not offered.
• Infotainment: The top-level system uses an 8.8-inch display with navigation and MINI Connected Services. It supports voice control, touchscreen input, wireless charging, and wireless Apple CarPlay, but Android Auto is not available.
• Fuel efficiency: No fuel-economy figure is stated in the provided data.

Which 2019 MINI Cooper trim should I buy?

The 2019 MINI Cooper is offered in 1 trim level: John Cooper Works.

Here's the short version:

The John Cooper Works is the trim that best matches this car’s personality, because the expert notes describe it as the hottest-performing version with the most power, the best handling, the stoutest brakes, and the loudest exhaust system. It suits you best if you want the MINI’s style and character with the strongest performance focus, but the same test-drive notes also make clear that it comes with compromises in braking confidence and overall value.

The safety package is limited, with Active Driving Assistant standard and adaptive cruise control reserved for the Driver Assistance Package.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2019 MINI Cooper?

This looks like a buyer-friendly market if you’re patient and selective.

• Deal availability: 41.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 418 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 5.22% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 67.2% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $15,553, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2019 MINI Cooper's resale value?

The current average of $16,386 sits slightly below last year's $17,289.

That decline suggests the market has softened, which can help you as a buyer now but may temper what you recover later as a seller. If you plan to resell, the current trend implies you should expect a more competitive pricing environment than last year. Well-kept examples with desirable equipment and strong presentation should still hold up better than average.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.56/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2019 MINI Cooper safe?

The MINI Cooper gets a 4-star overall rating from NHTSA, including a 3-star rating for rear seat occupant protection in a side-impact collision.

It earns a 6/10 safety score from our experts.

The standard safety suite includes eight airbags, a reversing camera, and Active Driving Assistant, which brings forward-collision warning, automatic emergency braking, automatic high-beam headlights, and a speed-limit information system. Adaptive cruise control is available through the Driver Assistance Package, along with Parking Assistant and front parking sensors.

The main caveat is the absence of blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assist, and lane-centering assist. The expert notes also make clear that advanced safety features are not standard, so you should pay close attention to the exact equipment on any used example.

Should I buy a 2019 MINI Cooper or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2019 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2019 if:

• 41.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 67.2% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 5.22% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.56/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The John Cooper Works trim is singled out as especially fitting for the car’s sporty mission.

Consider the 2020 if:

• At $18,816, the 2020 costs more than the current year's $16,386 average.
• It adds an electric powertrain option.

The bottom line: If you want the lower price and the classic MINI personality, the 2019 is the better value play. If you’re willing to spend more for a newer model with an electric option, the 2020 is the more forward-looking choice.
