CarGurus Analysis: 2019 Lexus NX
Summary
With 812 currently listed for sale and an average price of $23,487, 35.5% of 2019 Lexus NX listings on CarGurus are rated as good or great deals.
Favorably reviewed: Owners rated the 2019 Lexus NX 4.9 / 5 stars.

Why it stands out
The 2019 Lexus NX stands out first and foremost for its styling. Lexus gave its compact crossover angular bodywork and a dramatic take on the brand’s spindle grille, making it one of the most distinctive-looking vehicles in its class. It also brought a luxury feel to the segment, with an interior that was designed to hold up well against key rivals and a sporty F Sport trim for buyers who wanted a more aggressive look and firmer suspension.
For 2019, the NX also benefited from the first-generation updates that arrived for the 2018 model year. Those changes included restyled bumpers and headlamp inserts, equipment upgrades, a larger infotainment display, and the first availability of a head-up display. Lexus Safety System+ was added as standard as well, bringing features such as a pre-collision system with pedestrian detection, lane-departure alert, lane-keep assist systems, radar cruise control, and intelligent high-beam headlamps. That combination of added tech and safety equipment helps explain why the NX appeals to buyers who want a premium crossover with a strong reliability reputation.
The 2019 NX is not without compromises, though. The buying guide notes that it is not as good to drive as some rivals, and many desirable features were still tied to option packs. Fuel economy is also a mixed bag, since the non-hybrid models are not great for fuel economy. Even so, the NX’s distinctive design, available hybrid efficiency in the broader lineup, and long-standing reputation for dependability make it an appealing used luxury SUV.

Absolutely gorgeous car inside and out. It is a compact suv with a lot of room and agility. It doesn’t feel big and bulky it feels light, modern and luxurious. I love the sporty outside look, the leather interior and all of the dainty and elegant features inside. It also has a whole bunch of safety features that I love (lane departure notice, notifies you through the mirrors if there is a car on the side, and of course the efficient back up camera among others) . The only thing I would count as a con is that it requires premium gas. I highly recommend this beautiful car.

How much does the 2019 Lexus NX cost?
| Metric | Value |
|---|---|
| Current Average Price | $23,475 |
| Year-Round Low | $23,040 |
| Year-Round High | $24,441 |
| Average Price a Year Ago | $24,218 |
| Change vs. Last Year | −3.07% |
Prices have softened 3.07% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.
There are 809 listings available, which gives you a solid amount of inventory to compare.
Is the 2019 Lexus NX a good car?
Yes — the 2019 Lexus NX earns a 4.9/5 user rating, which points to strong owner satisfaction. Drivers consistently praise its stylish design, comfortable interior, and impressive features, and many also like its fun-to-drive feel and safety equipment. For you, that makes it a strong fit if you want a compact luxury crossover with a premium cabin and a distinctive look. With 36.3% of listings marked as good or great deals, there are still worthwhile opportunities if you shop carefully.
Is the 2019 Lexus NX reliable?
Owners rate it 4.9/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.
The review summary also points to a dependable, trouble-free ownership experience, with buyers repeatedly highlighting the NX’s long-term appeal and the confidence it inspires over time. That kind of feedback matters if you want a used luxury SUV you can count on beyond the first few years. For used buyers, the main long-term risk is making sure the specific vehicle you choose has been maintained well and hasn’t picked up hidden wear from prior use.
What should I look for when buying a used 2019 Lexus NX?
At 60.7% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
You should start with a vehicle history report so you can separate clean examples from cars with accident records. After that, prioritize a thorough pre-purchase inspection, especially if the listing has higher mileage or incomplete service documentation. Focus on overall condition, signs of prior bodywork, and whether the vehicle’s equipment and interior wear match the seller’s description.
Is now a good time to buy a used 2019 Lexus NX?
This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently but should move quickly on the best-priced examples.
- Deal availability: 36.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- Inventory: There are 809 listings available.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 3.07% compared with last year.
- Clean inventory: 60.7% of listings are accident-free.
If you find a listing below $23,040, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.
What is the 2019 Lexus NX's resale value?
The current average of $23,475 sits slightly below last year's $24,218.
That softer pricing suggests the NX is in a buyer-friendly phase right now, which can help you if you're shopping but may limit upside if you're planning to sell soon. Even so, the model’s strong owner satisfaction and premium-brand appeal help support demand in the used market. If you keep the vehicle in good condition and maintain it well, you should be in a better position when it’s time to resell.
Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.9/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.
Should I buy a 2019 Lexus NX or consider a different year?
If you're weighing the 2019 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:
Choose the 2019 if:
- 36.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- At 60.7% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 3.07% compared with last year.
- Owners rate it 4.9/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
The bottom line: The 2019 NX makes the most sense if you want the strongest mix of current pricing, owner satisfaction, and available inventory in this model-year window. If you’re especially price-sensitive, you can also compare nearby years to see whether a slightly older example offers a lower entry point without giving up the NX’s core appeal.
