The current average of $13,775 sits slightly below last year's $16,016.

That price movement suggests the model has softened, which can work against you if you're buying purely for future trade-in value. On the other hand, a lower entry price can help you limit depreciation exposure if you buy well. If you plan to resell later, condition and documentation will matter even more because they help protect demand when the market is softer.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.8/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2019 Land Rover Discovery Sport or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2019 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2019 if:

• 37.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 75.6% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 13.99% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.8/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: The 2019 is the better starting point if you want a year with solid owner satisfaction and a softer price environment. If you're especially price-sensitive, you can also compare nearby years to see whether a lower asking price outweighs the 2019's stronger market signals.
