With plenty of cabin space, moderate ability to get off the beaten trail, and V6 power, the Pilot was perfectly positioned for rising fuel prices later in the decade. This is my second Honda Pilot Touring. I put 350,000 km on my first one. The only trouble I had with that one was problems with the front rotors. The 2019 Pilot seems to be everything that I was looking for, they’re not the best on fuel but the comfort and amenities and the power more than make up for that.

Compared this to Highlander, MDX, even Tahoe and this won due to the features it has over the competition. Switching from a German Suv we needed something reliable and very kid friendly. Our Elite trim has captain chairs, rear moonroof and an HDMI rear entertainment screen without going to a minivan. Those were out biggest selling points. The other contenders didnt have all three combined. As far as other features such as nav, android auto, apple car play, active cruise control, lane assist are all pretty standard across the board. Also you can comfortably sit on the third row and still have some cargo space left. A great overall family suv. Driving is very boring as one would expect especially coming from a German and their 9 speed transmission jerks/slips at times, I suppose a common problem for the high end models.
