I own the 2019 civic type R and it’s A blast to drive. It’s A perfect mix of race car and daily driver. The 6 speed transmition is bullet proof. The interior is black and red with Carbon fiber trim. No complaints over all. I would have liked to have a few more trim options with more bells and whistles like lane assist adaptive cruise control. You do have to keep an eye out for pot holes and the stiff suspetion can make for a bumpy ride all though comfort mode does make it better. I give it a 9.5 out of 10 over all. Just a fun car to drive plenty of power super fast O to 60 in about 5.5 sec I believe. If your looking for a thrilling experience reliability and practicality the 2019 The Honda civic R is for you.

An overall great car, but part of what makes it fast is a dearth of technology features, keeping the weight down. Even the seats are all manual. Thankfully, the windows are electric. The factory Continental Summer tires wear super fast; that is part of the stellar traction and handling. The premium stereo is okay, but Ive heard better. The SUB in the back needs to be set high to really get good use of it. Plus there are only 2 USB inputs and the only music files it will play are mp3,, WMA or ACC (only if imported from Apple iTunes). No wave, flak or other non-compressed formats are playable. Would be nice to have a SD card slot as well. Low end torque could be better, but then you would probably spin your front wheels, since it is FWD. The cloth sports seats are excellent. Climate control is also weak at times and should be colder for such a small car. If you have a lot of potholes, such as we do in South Texas, it best to buy a wheel/tire warranty, since the wheels are super low profile. Despite what some people say about hating the look of the car, I love it, in the Sonic Pearl Gray color. The LED headlights are good, and NAV is good enough. The 6 speed can be rough/sticky at times, but mostly works well. I have less than 3K on the car, so hoping it eases a bit. The ride and power have definitely improved with more break-in. I may think of selling it within a year, due to my age and sometimes struggle to get in and out, since the car is super low. Be careful with that front damper hitting the pavement.

I was fresh out of test driving a Focus RS and an STI, so wasnt sure what to expect in comparison. Jumping in this car was like going back in time to my 18-year old self, back when I cruised around in my cherished 90 CRX Si. This car is so true to its Honda heritage; ultra-responsive steering, lightning-quick braking, and nice quick shifts. The shifter was very efficient with short throws to hit all gears; placement is a little more like a Z car, higher up and more driver-friendly than those old Hondas were. But the real treasure is obviously under the hood. Theres something about a high-powered FWD that is just special. Hitting the highway, the car begged to be pushed - and rewarded me for trying. Just a fantastically fun, yet practical, car. Turbo lag was barely noticeable - something I really felt in both the STI and RS. Now, if I can only get over the thought of driving a spaceship-shaped Civic around everyday . . .
