How much does the 2019 Genesis G70 cost?

Prices have softened 8.72% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

Is the 2019 Genesis G70 a good car?

Yes — the 2019 Genesis G70 earns a 5/5 user rating and an 8/10 expert rating. The model scores 9/10 across Look and feel and Performance.

Owners consistently praise the luxurious feel, sporty performance, and excellent value for money. They also highlight the strong acceleration and handling, along with the abundance of standard features.

For you, that means this is a compact luxury sedan that leans hard into the sport-sedan brief while still feeling upscale and well equipped. It also fits shoppers who want something distinctive in the segment rather than a generic luxury commuter.

The market backs that up, with 32.7% of listings priced as good or great deals.

Is the 2019 Genesis G70 reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

Owner feedback points to a car that feels dependable, with praise centered on its strong value, sporty character, and overall satisfaction over time. The expert drive notes also emphasize that the G70 feels well behaved and smooth, which supports confidence in day-to-day use.

Genesis also includes 3 years or 36,000 miles of scheduled maintenance, which helps reduce early ownership friction. For used buyers, the main long-term risk is making sure the car was maintained properly and hasn’t been worn down by hard use.

What should I look for when buying a used 2019 Genesis G70?

At 63.6% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report and then prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if the car has had bodywork or multiple owners. Focus on condition, maintenance records, tire wear, brake wear, and any signs that the car was driven hard. Because this model is positioned as a sport sedan, you’ll want to make sure the mechanicals and electronics still feel tight and responsive.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The base car emphasizes luxury touches like padded materials, aluminum trim, and contrast stitching, while higher trims add more performance hardware and richer cabin equipment.
• Powertrain: The turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder is adequate, while the 3.3-liter twin-turbo V6 brings much stronger thrust and more performance hardware.
• Safety package: Forward emergency braking, pedestrian detection, blind-spot monitoring, lane-keep assist, a driver-attention monitor, adaptive cruise control, a driver’s knee airbag, and auto high beams come standard.
• Infotainment: Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are standard, along with a wireless charging pad, voice recognition, Genesis Connected services, and a 360-degree camera system.
• Fuel efficiency: The G70 is EPA-estimated at 18 to 22 mpg city, 25 to 30 mpg highway, and 20 to 25 mpg combined.

Which 2019 Genesis G70 trim should I buy?

The 2019 Genesis G70 is offered in 3 trim levels: 2.0T, 3.3T, and V6 Sport.

Here's the short version:

• 2.0T: This is the value play if you want the G70’s luxury feel, standard safety tech, and upscale cabin without paying for the V6. It gives you the core experience, but the turbocharged four-cylinder is the least exciting powertrain in the lineup.
• 3.3T: This is the best-value trim for most shoppers because it adds the stronger twin-turbo V6 and the performance hardware that makes the G70 feel special. If you want the car’s sport-sedan character to come through clearly, this is the trim to target.
• V6 Sport: This is the enthusiast choice. It adds sport-focused equipment such as adaptive dampers and bronze-colored trim, and it suits you best if you want the most aggressive version of the G70.

The safety package is standard across all models, so you do not need to move up a trim just to get the core driver-assistance features.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2019 Genesis G70?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you have room to shop carefully and still find a solid deal.

• Deal availability: 32.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 214 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 8.72% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 63.6% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $19,628, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2019 Genesis G70's resale value?

The current average of $19,637 sits slightly below last year's $21,514.

That decline suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can help you buy at a more favorable point. For a future seller, it also means resale value will depend heavily on condition, mileage, and how well the car was maintained.

Because this model has strong owner satisfaction and a good reputation for value, well-kept examples should continue to attract interest. Clean history and desirable equipment will matter a lot when it’s time to sell.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2019 Genesis G70 safe?

The 2019 G70 earns a Top Safety Pick+ from IIHS.

It earns an 8/10 safety score from our experts.

Forward emergency braking, pedestrian detection, blind-spot monitoring, lane-keep assist, a driver-attention monitor, and adaptive cruise control come standard on all models. A driver’s knee airbag and auto high beams are also included.

That standard safety suite is a major strength, and it helps the G70 stand out even if you shop the lower trims. The main caveat is that NHTSA had not yet rated it in the source data.

Should I buy a 2019 Genesis G70 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2019 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2019 if:

• 32.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 63.6% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 8.72% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• It’s the first all-new Genesis G70 and delivers standout sport-sedan performance.

Consider the 2020 if:

• At $20,275, the 2020 costs more than the current year's $19,637 average.
• It adds a more distinctive upscale personality with quilted stitching and valet service.

The bottom line: If you want the best mix of price, satisfaction, and performance, the 2019 is the smart starting point. If you’re willing to spend a bit more for a slightly newer example with a more distinctive upscale feel, the 2020 is worth a look. For price-sensitive buyers, the 2019’s softer pricing makes it the easier buy.
