About 2019 GMC Savana Cargo
The GMC Savana Cargo van has been helping people get work done for more than 20 years. For 2019, it carries over. The van comes with a choice of two wheelbase lengths: the regular wheelbase, which has an overall length of 224.1 inches, and the extended wheelbase, which has an overall length of 244.1 inches. You can also choose between two rear-axle ratios: the 2500 or the more rugged 3500. The standard seating is for two passengers. With the proper configurations, the Savana Cargo has a maximum cargo space of 284.4 cubic feet, a 10,000-pound trailering maximum, and a maximum combined (front and rear axle) weight rating (GCWR) of 16,000 pounds. The maximum payload for a regular-wheelbase Savana Cargo is 3,323 pounds, while the extended-wheelbase version drops that payload to 3,090 pounds. The engines available include a 4.3-liter V6 that produces 276 horsepower and 298 lb-ft of torque. The new-for-2019 6.0-liter Compressed Natural Gas (CNG)/Liquified Propane Gas (LPG) capable V8 generates the same power as the V6. In addition to the CNG/LPG V8, two more optional engines are available for the Savana Cargo. A 6.0-liter Vortec V8 delivers 341 hp and 378 lb-ft, while the 2.8-liter Duramax turbo-diesel 4-cylinder generates 181 horsepower and 369 lb-ft of torque. The V6 engine and the diesel engine pair to an 8-speed automatic, while the V8 engines pair to a 6-speed transmission. As of this writing, fuel-efficiency numbers are not available. There’s only one trim level for the Savana Cargo, which GMC calls “Work Van.” Standard features include vinyl seats, a rear-vision camera, power windows and locks, 4G LTE Wi-Fi hotspot capability, OnStar capability, air conditioning, two 12-volt power outlets, a 120-volt outlet, AM/FM stereo with MP3 player, cargo tie-downs, electrical theft-deterrent system, front and side window defogger, oil-life monitoring system, external engine oil cooler, rubberized vinyl floor covering, a tire-pressure-monitoring system, and a tow/haul mode selector. There are plenty of available features if you want more than a utility van, including some technology options like rear park assist, side blind-zone alert, forward-collision alert, lane-departure warning, SiriusXM Radio, SiriusXM NavTraffic, Bluetooth, remote start, an infotainment system with navigation and 6.5-inch color touchscreen, CD player, and a USB port for the audio system. There are also industrial options like an automatic locking rear differential, heavy-duty trailering equipment, an isolated second heavy-duty battery, a removable roof rack, and a spray-in cargo liner. And if you still want more features, there are also options for heated mirrors, chrome center caps, chrome bumpers, chrome grille, molded assist steps, a 6-way power driver seat, cloth bucket front seats, custom cloth seat trim, leather-wrapped steering wheel, rear air conditioning, and a rear auxiliary heater. All Savana Cargo vehicles have standard electronic stability control and hill-start assist along with optional safety technologies like side blind-zone alert, forward-collision warning, and lane-departure warning. The van has not been crash-tested by the National Highway and Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) or the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS). No matter the job, there’s little doubt the GMC Savana Cargo can help you get it done.
