Is the 2019 Dodge Journey a good car?

The 2019 Dodge Journey is a mixed-value choice, but the 3.6/5 user rating suggests it can fit your needs if you prioritize space and practicality over polish. Owners commonly praise the spacious three-row seating, the V6 engine, and the usefulness of features like all-wheel drive and heated seats in cold weather. The interior design also gets positive mention, even as some reviewers want more storage and stronger acceleration. With 27.6% of listings marked as good or great deals, you have some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2019 Dodge Journey reliable?

Owners describe the 2019 Dodge Journey as having some dependable traits, especially when it comes to everyday use in colder climates and the confidence of available all-wheel drive. The feedback also points to a vehicle that can feel trouble-free for some buyers who value its straightforward layout and family-friendly space. At the same time, the mixed reviews around safety features, the backup camera, and road stability suggest you should be selective about condition and maintenance history. For used buyers, long-term ownership risk is best managed by choosing a well-documented example and avoiding neglected listings.

What should I look for when buying a used 2019 Dodge Journey?

At 60.8% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should run a vehicle history report before you commit, then prioritize a pre-purchase inspection from a trusted mechanic. Pay close attention to signs of prior bodywork, the condition of the backup camera and safety-related equipment, and how the vehicle feels on the road during a test drive.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2019 Dodge Journey?

This is a moderate, selective buyer's market, so you can shop patiently and still find worthwhile options.

• Deal availability: 27.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 1,219 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 11.06% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 60.8% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $10,876, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2019 Dodge Journey's resale value?

The current average of $10,876 sits slightly below last year's $12,228.

That price movement suggests the model has softened in the used market, which can help you buy at a lower entry point today. For a future seller, that also means resale upside may be limited unless you buy well and keep the vehicle in strong condition. If you plan to own it for several years, the current pricing can work in your favor, but you should still focus on a clean, well-maintained example to protect value later.

Should I buy a 2019 Dodge Journey or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2019 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2019 if:

• 27.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 60.8% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 11.06% compared with last year.

The bottom line: The 2019 is a reasonable primary target if you want a lower used price and are willing to shop carefully for condition. If you're especially price-sensitive, you can also compare nearby years to see whether a cleaner or better-equipped example fits your budget with less compromise.
