Used 2019 Chevrolet Tahoe for Sale near Tennessee

In its near quarter of a century on the market, the four-door Chevrolet Tahoe SUV has become an important part of the American landscape. Its most recent redesign took place in 2015, and last year, Chevrolet offered a larger engine and a new special edition package. In 2019, there are no major changes. Like previous models, the Tahoe seats up to 9 people, with the first and second rows consisting of either a 3-person bench or two captain’s chairs. Both the second and third row stow away to create a maximum of 94.7 cubic feet of cargo space. With all three rows in use, there’s a respectable 15.3 cu. ft. As a large SUV, the Tahoe also comes with a number of cubbies and cup holders to store small items, including a lockable and USB-equipped storage compartment behind the infotainment LCD. The Tahoe’s volume engine is still a 5.3-liter V8 making 355 horsepower and 383 pound-feet of torque, matched with a 6-speed automatic transmission. However, you can opt for the more powerful 6.2-liter V8 with 420 hp and 460 lb-ft, mated to a 10-speed automatic transmission. Both setups come with standard rear-wheel drive (RWD) and optional four-wheel drive (4WD) with high- and low-range gearing. The 5.3-liter models equipped with the Max Trailering Package can tow up to 8,600 lbs. The 6.2-liter engine returns 14 miles per gallon city, 17 highway, and 23 combined, versus 15 mpg city, 22 highway, and 18 combined for the 5.3-liter; only the smaller engine is E85-compatible. All previous grades of the Tahoe lineup return for 2019. The LS trim kicks things off with 18-inch wheels, an 8-inch infotainment system, projector headlights, LED daytime-running lights, remote start, and tri-zone climate controls. The LT trim throws in leather upholstery, a power liftgate with programmable height, heated front seats with memory, and a Bose 9-speaker premium sound system. Finally, the Premier trim tosses on 20-inch wheels, exterior chrome appointments, a power-release second row, a power-folding third row, magnetic ride control, keyless start and access, 12-way power heated and cooled front seats, and fog lights. The RST Edition package, added last year, gives the Tahoe a blacked-out exterior, gloss-black 22-inch aluminum wheels, and special badging. Add the 6.2-liter engine and you’ll get the RST Performance Edition, which comes with a 3.23 rear-axle ratio, a trailer-brake controller, an uprated alternator, and a performance-calibrated magnetic suspension. There’s plenty of safety technology on the Tahoe, too. All models get a reversing camera, reversing sensors, and Teen Driver, which allows parents to set limitations on the vehicle and monitor its use by their teenagers. Stepping up to the LT grade adds low-speed forward automatic braking, lane-keep assist, lane-departure warning, a safety alert seat that vibrates intuitively, automatic high-beam headlights, and forward-collision alert. The Premier trim gets lane-change alert, blind-spot monitoring, and rear cross-traffic alert. Unfortunately, like many large SUVs, there isn’t a comprehensive set of crash test data for the current generation of Tahoe. The Chevrolet Tahoe is as American as the stars and stripes and apple pie. And a comprehensive list of options and trims means that if offers drivers thousands of configurations. As this is a fiercely competitive segment, we recommend looking at some of its rivals too, like the Ford Expedition -- but it’s certainly a competent and respectable choice.
