Is the 2019 Chevrolet Cruze a good car?

The 2019 Chevrolet Cruze is a solid choice if you want a compact sedan that balances comfort, safety equipment, and practical features, even if it is not especially quick. It earned a user rating of 3/5, and its appeal is strongest if you value a comfortable long-distance commute, available hatchback versatility, and a well-equipped cabin for the class. Is the 2019 Chevrolet Cruze reliable?

The 2019 Chevrolet Cruze is described as a compact sedan with strong safety equipment, solid road manners, and a practical mix of powertrain choices. It also adds standard rear side thorax airbags and front knee airbags, which supports its reputation as a well-protected small car. For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is making sure the specific car you choose has been maintained well and does not have hidden condition issues.

What should I look for when buying a used 2019 Chevrolet Cruze?

At 56.8% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should run a vehicle history report before you commit, then prioritize a pre-purchase inspection so you can catch bodywork, mechanical, or electronic issues early. Focus on overall condition, since the best examples will be the ones that combine clean history with evidence of careful maintenance and consistent wear.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2019 Chevrolet Cruze?

This looks like a moderate buyer’s market, so you can afford to be selective without waiting forever for a perfect deal.

• Deal availability: 27.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 720 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 3.46% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 56.8% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $10,403, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2019 Chevrolet Cruze's resale value?

The current average of $10,674 sits slightly below last year's $11,056.

That suggests the Cruze has softened enough to give you a more approachable entry price today, but it also means future resale gains may be limited if the market stays soft. If you buy well and keep the car in strong condition, you can help protect value, but you should still expect a modest depreciation profile rather than a strong rebound.

Should I buy a 2019 Chevrolet Cruze or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2019 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2019 if:

• 27.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 56.8% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 3.46% compared with last year.

Consider the 2018 if:

• At $9,937, the 2018 costs less than the current year's $10,674 average.
• It stands out for its unusual diesel availability.

The bottom line: The 2019 is the better pick if you want the more polished version of the Cruze with a refreshed look and standard tech improvements. If your priority is saving money first, the 2018 is worth a look, especially if you find one in strong condition and the lower price matters more than the newer-year updates.
