How much does the 2019 Cadillac XT4 cost?

Prices have softened 8.80% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 707 listings available, which gives you a solid pool of options to compare.

Is the 2019 Cadillac XT4 a good car?

Yes — the 2019 Cadillac XT4 earns a 4.56/5 user rating and a 6.83/10 expert rating. The model scores 8/10 across Look and feel and Form and function.

Owners consistently praise its beautiful design, comfortable ride, and user-friendly controls. The XT4 also gets credit for its luxury features and good value, which fits its role as a compact crossover aimed at shoppers who want style and everyday usability in one package.

With its compact-crossover packaging and premium feel, it makes sense if you want a small luxury SUV that is easy to live with and broadly appealing. 35.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which suggests there are still worthwhile opportunities in the market.

Is the 2019 Cadillac XT4 reliable?

Owners rate it 4.56/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback points to a dependable, trouble-free ownership experience for many shoppers, with repeated praise for the XT4’s overall quality and day-to-day livability. The expert review also describes it as a fresh, brand-new vehicle rather than a simple rebadge, which supports the sense that Cadillac was trying to build something more substantial here.

Cadillac also notes that the XT4’s base trim is cost-conscious, but the need to add equipment quickly can make ownership feel less straightforward than it should. For used buyers, the main long-term risk is not just mechanical wear but whether a given example was maintained well and equipped with the features you expect.

What should I look for when buying a used 2019 Cadillac XT4?

At 72% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report and then prioritize a careful inspection of body panels, paint consistency, and any signs of prior repair. Because so many desirable features were optional, you should also confirm the exact equipment on the specific car you’re considering rather than assuming a trim includes it.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The base Luxury trim includes LED headlights, keyless entry and ignition with remote start, dual-zone automatic climate controls, a 7-speaker stereo with satellite radio, and an 8-inch touchscreen, but it misses features like auto wipers and mirrors, driver memory, parking sensors, blind-spot monitoring, a power liftgate, a rear cargo cover, and ambient lighting. Premium Luxury adds those missing conveniences, while Sport adds LED turn signals, front cornering lamps, a sport steering wheel, sport front seats, and unique faux leather.
• Powertrain: The XT4 uses a 2.0-liter turbocharged engine with 237 horsepower and 258 lb-ft of torque paired with a 9-speed automatic. It is quick enough for daily driving, but the transmission can feel busy at low speeds, and AWD is recommended if you want better traction.
• Safety package: The Driver Awareness package adds forward-collision alert with pedestrian detection, more auto braking, lane-keeping warning and assist, auto high beams, and a following-distance indicator. The Drive Assist package adds adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go plus forward and reverse automatic emergency braking. Many safety features are optional rather than standard.
• Infotainment: You get an 8-inch touchscreen with Cadillac CUE, standard Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, and USB-C ports. Higher equipment can add navigation, real-time traffic, a 13-speaker Bose stereo, wireless charging, a head-up display, and an upgraded gauge cluster.
• Fuel efficiency: The XT4 is rated at 27 mpg combined in front-wheel-drive form and 24 mpg combined with all-wheel drive.

Which 2019 Cadillac XT4 trim should I buy?

The 2019 Cadillac XT4 is offered in 3 trim levels: Luxury, Premium Luxury, Sport.

Here's the short version:

• Luxury: This is the entry point, and it gives you the XT4’s core luxury basics at the lowest price. It makes sense if you want the cleanest path into the model, but you should be aware that several expected premium features are missing here.
• Premium Luxury: This is the best-value choice because it adds many of the convenience and comfort features that the base trim leaves out, including items like parking sensors, blind-spot monitoring, a power liftgate, a rear cargo cover, and ambient lighting.
• Sport: This trim is for you if you want the most distinctive appearance and the most aggressive feel, with sport-specific exterior and interior touches. It overlaps heavily with Premium Luxury on equipment, so it is more about character than value.

The safety-package trim note is simple: many of the XT4’s driver-assistance features are optional, so you should verify whether a given used example has the packages you want.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2019 Cadillac XT4?

The market looks selective rather than overheated, so you can shop carefully and still find opportunities.

• Deal availability: 35.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 707 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 8.80% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 72.0% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $18,693, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2019 Cadillac XT4's resale value?

The current average of $18,693 sits slightly below last year's $20,497.

That decline suggests the XT4 has become more affordable for used buyers, but it also means a future seller may face a softer pricing environment than before. If you buy at today’s average, you may have less room for appreciation, so condition and equipment matter more when you think about eventual resale.

Well-kept examples with desirable features should still draw interest because the XT4 has broad appeal as a stylish compact luxury crossover. Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.56/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2019 Cadillac XT4 safe?

It earns a 5/10 safety score from our experts.

Cadillac’s available driver-assistance equipment includes adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go, forward and reverse automatic emergency braking, forward-collision alert with pedestrian detection, lane-keeping warning and assist, auto high beams, and a following-distance indicator. The challenge is that many of these features are tied to optional packages rather than standard equipment.

The XT4 also has a notable visibility drawback, with thick rear pillars and a heavily raked rear window making it hard to see out the back. That means you should pay close attention to whether a used example has the visibility and driver-assistance features you want.

Should I buy a 2019 Cadillac XT4 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2019 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2019 if:

• 35.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 72% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 8.80% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.56/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The 2019 XT4 is a fresh, all-new compact crossover built to move Cadillac into the modern SUV market.

Consider the 2020 if:

• At $19,664, the 2020 costs more than the current year's $18,693 average.
• It is described as stylish, comfortable, useful, enjoyable to drive, and easy to like.

The bottom line: If you want the lower price and a strong selection of listings, the 2019 is the better value play. If you can spend more and want the next model year’s broader appeal and friendlier daily-use character, the 2020 is worth a look. For price-sensitive buyers, the 2019 remains the smarter starting point.
