How much does the 2019 BMW 5 Series cost?

Prices have softened 9.17% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 1,346 listings available, which suggests solid inventory for shoppers comparing trims and conditions.

Is the 2019 BMW 5 Series a good car?

Yes — the 4.89/5 user rating points to strong owner satisfaction. Owners consistently praise its blend of sportiness and luxury, and many say it feels fun to drive and well-designed. The technology also gets positive attention, especially the interface and head-up display, while the model’s use case fits you well if you want a premium midsize sedan with personality rather than a purely comfort-first commuter. With 36.3% of listings marked as good or great deals, there is meaningful market opportunity if you shop carefully.

Is the 2019 BMW 5 Series reliable?

Owners rate it 4.89/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback also points to a car that feels dependable in daily use, with praise centered on its well-rounded ownership experience and trouble-free appeal. That kind of response matters if you want a luxury sedan you can count on over time, especially when you’re comparing used examples with different mileage and maintenance histories. For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is less about the model’s appeal and more about how well each individual car has been maintained.

What should I look for when buying a used 2019 BMW 5 Series?

At 63.6% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report so you can separate clean examples from cars with prior damage. Then prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially on electronics, interior features, and any signs of uneven wear that could point to past repairs. Focus on overall condition and documentation, because a well-kept example is likely to be a better ownership experience than a cheaper car with unclear history.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2019 BMW 5 Series?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop with some leverage if you compare listings carefully.

• Deal availability: 36.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 1,346 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 9.17% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 63.6% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $20,366, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2019 BMW 5 Series's resale value?

The current average of $20,546 sits slightly below last year's $22,620.

That price movement suggests the market has cooled, which can make resale a little less favorable than it was a year ago. If you buy now, you should expect value retention to depend heavily on condition, mileage, and service history. Well-kept examples should still hold appeal because shoppers in this segment tend to respond to a strong ownership reputation and a premium driving experience.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.89/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2019 BMW 5 Series or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2019 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2019 if:

• 36.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 63.6% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 9.17% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.89/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2018 if:

• At $18,162, the 2018 costs less than the current year's $20,546 average.
• It adds the 530e plug-in hybrid and leans more toward efficiency.

The bottom line: If you want the stronger all-around shopping position, the 2019 is the better primary target because it combines solid owner satisfaction with a softer price trend and meaningful deal availability. If your top priority is spending less upfront, the 2018 is the better secondary path, especially if you value lower entry cost over the newer-year market position.
