What should I look for when buying a used 2019 Acura RDX?

At 71.4% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle-history report and then prioritize a thorough pre-purchase inspection, especially if the listing price looks unusually attractive. Focus on overall condition, prior damage, and how well the cabin electronics and controls work, since the RDX’s technology is a common ownership pain point. If you’re comparing multiple examples, the cleanest history and best-maintained interior should carry extra weight.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The base RDX comes well equipped with 19-inch alloy wheels, Jewel Eye LED headlights, LED fog and taillights, a power liftgate, a power panoramic moonroof, leather upholstery, heated 12-way power front seats, dual-zone climate control, remote keyless entry with push-button start, and a leather-wrapped steering wheel. The Technology Package adds perforated Milano premium leather, GPS-linked climate control, voice recognition, a navigation system with real-time traffic updates, the ELS premium audio system, and additional driver-assistance features. The A-Spec Package adds 20-inch wheels, gloss-black exterior accents, ventilated front seats, red ambient lighting, brushed aluminum pedals and interior accents, a unique gauge cluster, and an optional red leather interior. The Advance Package adds 16-way front seats with power side bolsters, heated rear seats, a heated steering wheel, natural olive ash burl wood trim, a head-up display, a 360-degree surround-view camera, and a reversing camera washer.
• Powertrain: You get a turbocharged 2.0-liter inline 4-cylinder with 272 horsepower and 280 pound-feet of torque, paired with a 10-speed automatic transmission. Front-wheel drive is standard, and all-wheel drive is available. The SH-AWD system can send up to 70 percent of torque to the rear wheels and vary power side to side for added traction and agility. Fuel economy is 22 mpg city, 28 highway, 24 combined with front-wheel drive, or 21/27/23 with AWD.
• Safety package: AcuraWatch is standard and includes forward-collision warning, forward-collision avoidance, lane-departure warning, a road-departure warning system, and lane-keeping assist. The Technology Package adds front and rear parking sensors plus blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert. The Advance Package adds a head-up warning system.
• Infotainment: The standard setup uses a 10.2-inch HD monitor with Acura’s True Touchpad infotainment system. It includes Bluetooth, HD Radio, two front USB ports, and Apple CarPlay, but no Android Auto. The system is described as having a steep learning curve.
• Fuel efficiency: The front-wheel drive model returns 22 mpg city, 28 highway, and 24 combined. The AWD version returns 21/27/23.

Which 2019 Acura RDX trim should I buy?

Here's the short version:

• RDX: This is the best-value starting point if you want the core redesign, strong standard equipment, and the lowest entry price. You still get the 10.2-inch display, Apple CarPlay, leather upholstery, heated power front seats, a panoramic moonroof, and AcuraWatch.
• Technology Package: This is the trim to target if you want the most meaningful upgrade in everyday usability. The added navigation, upgraded audio, extra USB ports, and additional driver-assistance features make it the smartest step up for many shoppers.
• A-Spec Package: Choose this if you care most about style and a sportier presentation. It adds the most distinctive exterior and interior appearance changes, plus ventilated front seats and the upgraded ELS Studio 3D audio system.

• Deal availability: 39.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 1,301 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 4.27% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 71.4% of listings are accident-free.

What is the 2019 Acura RDX's resale value?

The current average of $22,697 sits slightly below last year's $23,710.

That softer pricing suggests the model has become more accessible for used buyers, which can help keep demand healthy in the near term. For a future seller, that means resale value may depend heavily on condition, mileage, and equipment level rather than just model-year desirability. Well-kept examples with desirable packages should hold up better than rougher or less-equipped ones.

Vehicles with solid owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.42/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2019 Acura RDX or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2019 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2019 if:

• 39.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 71.4% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 4.27% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.42/5 — a solid satisfaction signal.
• The 2019 brings a full redesign and a more upscale, spacious cabin.

Consider the 2020 if:

• At $24,529, the 2020 costs more than the current year's $22,697 average.
• It carries over the same generation with more content at a higher price.

The bottom line: If you want the better value, the 2019 is the smarter buy because it combines a lower average price with strong owner satisfaction and a redesigned package. If you’re willing to spend more for a newer model-year listing, the 2020 is the secondary path to consider, but price-sensitive buyers should focus on the 2019 and shop condition carefully.
