Is the 2017 Acura RDX a good car?

Yes — the 4.88/5 user rating points to strong owner satisfaction. Drivers consistently praise its spacious and luxurious feel, smooth ride, and robust power, and many also highlight the available sunroof and technology features. In practical terms, that lines up well if you want a roomy, comfortable luxury crossover with family-friendly space and everyday usability. With 35.1% of listings marked as good or great deals, the market still offers some attractive shopping opportunities.

Is the 2017 Acura RDX reliable?

Owners rate it 4.88/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The user feedback also points to a dependable ownership experience, with drivers repeatedly calling out the RDX’s smooth, trouble-free feel and strong overall value in daily use. That kind of feedback matters if you want a used luxury SUV you can count on for regular commuting and family duty. For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is making sure the specific vehicle has been maintained well and hasn’t accumulated hidden wear.

What should I look for when buying a used 2017 Acura RDX?

At 58.7% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report so you can confirm accident records, title status, and ownership history before you go any further. After that, prioritize a thorough pre-purchase inspection, especially for bodywork, alignment, and signs of uneven wear that can point to past damage. It also makes sense to focus on overall condition and maintenance records, since a clean, well-kept example is the safest way to buy this model.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2017 Acura RDX?

This is a moderate market, so you can be selective without expecting a deep bargain on every listing.

• Deal availability: 35.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 700 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 2.87% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 58.7% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $15,453, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2017 Acura RDX's resale value?

The current average of $16,051 sits slightly below last year's $16,525.

That softer pricing suggests the model has already absorbed some depreciation, which can help limit how much value you lose after purchase. For a future seller, that can be a positive sign if you buy well and keep the vehicle in strong condition. A clean history and solid maintenance records should matter more when it comes time to resell, because shoppers in this segment tend to reward well-kept examples.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.88/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2017 Acura RDX or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2017 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2017 if:

• 35.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 58.7% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 2.87% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.88/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2016 if:

• At $14,622, the 2016 costs less than the current year's $16,051 average.
• It brings a thorough update with upgraded powertrain, safety, and infotainment.

The bottom line: If you want the strongest balance of owner satisfaction, current market availability, and a still-reasonable price, the 2017 is the better default choice. If your priority is spending less upfront, the 2016 is the smarter value play, especially if you find one in excellent condition.
