How much does the 2018 RAM 3500 cost?

Prices have softened 10.04% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 795 listings available, which gives you a solid pool of trucks to compare.

Is the 2018 RAM 3500 a good car?

Yes — the 2018 RAM 3500 earns a 5/5 user rating, which points to very strong owner satisfaction. Owners consistently praise its heavy towing capability, comfortable ride, sturdy build, and thoughtful design, and many also appreciate its fuel economy for a large truck. That makes it a strong fit if you want a heavy-duty pickup that can handle demanding work while still feeling comfortable and well equipped inside. With 30.6% of listings marked as good or great deals, you have some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2018 RAM 3500 reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback also emphasizes that the truck feels dependable, with praise for its sturdy build and trouble-free ownership experience. That kind of response suggests you can count on it for long-term use if you choose a well-kept example. For used buyers, the main reliability risk is less about the model’s reputation and more about how hard a particular truck was worked.

What should I look for when buying a used 2018 RAM 3500?

At 67.7% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should run a vehicle history report before you commit, then prioritize a thorough pre-purchase inspection. Focus on signs of heavy-duty use, uneven wear, and any evidence that the truck was worked hard or repaired after damage. Because this is a large, capability-focused truck, condition matters a lot more than mileage alone.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2018 RAM 3500?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully and still find value.

• Deal availability: 30.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 795 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 10.04% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 67.7% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $35,420, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2018 RAM 3500's resale value?

The current average of $36,033 sits slightly below last year's $40,054.

That decline suggests the market has become more favorable for buyers, but it also means a future seller may need to price competitively to stand out. The good news is that strong owner satisfaction can help support demand when you eventually resell. Trucks with a reputation for capability, comfort, and solid build quality tend to hold buyer interest better than similar vehicles with weaker reviews.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2018 RAM 3500 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2018 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2018 if:

• 30.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 67.7% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 10.04% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: If you want a heavy-duty truck with strong owner approval, a comfortable ride, and a market that has cooled enough to create some negotiating room, the 2018 is the primary year to target. If you are especially price-sensitive, you should still compare nearby years, but the 2018 stands out as a balanced choice because it combines strong satisfaction with a softer price trend and meaningful inventory.
