CarGurus Analysis: 2018 Nissan Titan

Summary
With 99 currently listed for sale near Miami, FL and an average price of $16,063, 14.1% of 2018 Nissan Titans for sale on CarGurus are rated as good or great deals.
Favorably reviewed: Owners rated the 2018 Nissan Titan 5 / 5 stars.
76.8% of 2018 Titan models on CarGurus are accident free.
Why it stands out
The 2018 Nissan Titan stands out as a full-size truck that pairs a strong V8 with a more comfortable, better-equipped cabin than many buyers might expect. It came with a 5.6-liter V8 rated at 390 horsepower and 394 lb-ft of torque, along with a seven-speed automatic transmission, and all trims were available with rear- or four-wheel drive. Nissan also gave the truck a refreshed interior with the gearshift moved to the column, a center console large enough to store a 15-inch laptop, and Zero Gravity seats, which helped make the Titan feel more upscale and practical than its work-truck mission might suggest.
For 2018, the Titan’s appeal also came from its mix of useful standard equipment and off-road-friendly hardware. Bluetooth phone connectivity, push-button ignition, and a back-up camera were included, while available features ranged from GPS navigation and SiriusXM Satellite Radio to an electronic locking rear tailgate, an electric locking rear differential, hill descent control, and a trailer tow package with an integrated trailer brake controller. The Titan also offered a unique UtiliTrack-channel system and in-bed cargo boxes for better load management. Its drawbacks were just as clear: the truck was criticized for poor ride quality, limited configurability, and plasticky interior materials, and it was also noted for poor fuel economy and a lack of alternative engines.

As a 5 time Nissan buyer this is my second Titan. Too many truck owners only stick with what they know....which costs them lots of money. My last Titan is still on the road with 370,000 kms with only a power steering pump needing replacement about 3 years ago...thats it...nothing else! How many big three truck Owners can say that? I bet very few. Strong engine, strong truck, no problems.

I own a 2018 Titan SV 4x4. It currently is at 76k miles. I have driven all of the Big 3 at my job. The Titan rides better and quieter than the others. The seats are hands down more comfortable than any competitor. Fuel mileage is on par with the Big 3, except for the Ford EcoBoost. The truck will do everything you ask of it. The 100k mile bumper to bumper warranty is second to none, although Ive not needed it in the 76k miles of my trucks life. I will own another Titan after this one.

How much does the 2018 Nissan Titan cost?
| Metric | Value |
|---|---|
| Current Average Price | $21,899 |
| Year-Round Low | $21,899 |
| Year-Round High | $23,303 |
| Average Price a Year Ago | $23,197 |
| Change vs. Last Year | −5.60% |
Prices have softened 5.60% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.
There are 1,209 listings available, which gives you a solid amount of inventory to compare before you buy.
Is the 2018 Nissan Titan a good car?
Yes — the 2018 Nissan Titan earns a 5/5 user rating, which is a strong sign that shoppers are happy with it overall.
Owners commonly praise its smooth ride, quiet interior, and comfortable seating. The review summary also points to strong performance and towing capacity, along with good value compared with competitors. In practical terms, that makes it a fit if you want a full-size truck that feels more comfortable and upscale than a basic work truck.
With 29.6% of listings marked as good or great deals, you have a meaningful chance to find a competitive price if you shop carefully.
Is the 2018 Nissan Titan reliable?
Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.
The review summary also highlights that shoppers see it as reliable, dependable, and a truck they can count on over time. That kind of feedback matters if you plan to keep the truck for years and want confidence in day-to-day ownership.
For used buyers, the main long-term risk is less about the rating and more about finding a well-kept example with a clean history and consistent maintenance.
What should I look for when buying a used 2018 Nissan Titan?
At 63.9% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
You should start with a vehicle history report so you can screen for accidents, title issues, and ownership patterns before you get too far along. After that, prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if the truck has been used for towing or off-road driving. Focus your condition check on the body, frame, suspension, and interior wear so you can separate a clean, well-kept truck from one that has been worked hard.
Is now a good time to buy a used 2018 Nissan Titan?
This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently and still find worthwhile options.
- Deal availability: 29.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- Inventory: There are 1,209 listings available.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 5.60% compared with last year.
- Clean inventory: 63.9% of listings are accident-free.
If you find a listing below $21,899, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.
What is the 2018 Nissan Titan's resale value?
The current average of $21,899 sits slightly below last year's $23,197.
That softer pricing suggests the truck has already absorbed some depreciation, which can help future resale stability if you buy at the right number. If you pay close to the current average, your downside is more limited than it would be if prices were still climbing. A clean, well-maintained Titan should be easier to resell than one with accident history or visible wear, especially if you keep mileage and condition in check.
Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.
Should I buy a 2018 Nissan Titan or consider a different year?
If you're weighing the 2018 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:
Choose the 2018 if:
- 29.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- At 63.9% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 5.60% compared with last year.
- Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
Consider the 2017 if:
- At $19,367, the 2017 costs less than the current year's $21,899 average.
- The 2017 is a redesigned Titan with real truck credibility.
The bottom line: If you want the stronger overall value proposition, the 2018 is the better primary target because it combines a lower current average price with strong owner satisfaction and decent deal availability. If your budget is tighter and you want to spend less upfront, the 2017 is the better secondary path, especially if you find one in clean condition and can live with an older model year.
